Old School Feeling with Upgradeable Guns
A nice game with powerful weapons, plenty of enemies and good level design.

KEY FEATURES
Project Warlock II picks up right after the events of the first game. Warlock’s disciples Palmer, Urd, and Kirsten, each bring their own arsenals of skills, perks, unique weapons, and spells to the table, as well as personal reasons to confront their old master.
Levels in the game evolved into vertical, three-dimensional, multi-floored structures, platforms, and buildings that literally elevate the gameplay. Each of the 3 chapters of Project Warlock II consists of 12 levels, each one more vertical and intricate than in the original game.
Palmer, Urd, and Kirsten carry unique arsenals of weapons and magic skills based on their personas that enable different playstyles. Their tools of destruction can be upgraded resulting in 20 weapons for each character.
In the first chapter, don the mantle of Palmer, whose love for ice, fire, and dual guns fuels the fight against the demon hordes. Though little is known about his past, Palmer's lethal arsenal of weapons and magic makes him an unstoppable force against the endless waves of relentless Ghouls, towering Turbo Knights, flying Cacobots, and massive Pigdemons standing in his way, whether he’s raining down bullets, setting hellspawns on fire, or shattering them into pieces.
Chapter 2 lets you experience the power of Urd’s magical arsenal and nimble weapons in the fight against demon hordes. Urd’s smaller, lethal tools, like the magic-infused Dagger, Buckshot Revolver, and TNT Charges, are perfect for dynamic combat. Her spells, from Agility for speed to Poison for damage-over-time and Crystal for battlefield control, give her the edge in battle. With her versatile weapons and magic, Urd is a deadly force, exploiting enemy weaknesses to master the art of demon-slaying.
Kirsten’s campaign in Chapter 3 takes you beyond the stars, where cosmic horrors and unspoken threats lurk in the void. Armed with heat-based weapons and summoning magic, she thrives in chaos. Her Nailgun ricochets bullets off walls, the Lava Streamer scorches everything in its path, and her Demonic Claws tear through flesh and armor, feeding her insatiable hunger for battle. With Hellish Slaves at her command, and the crushing force of the Demonic Hammer, Kirsten bends dark forces to her will, searching for redemption… or something far more sinister.
The legacy of the first Warlock lives on in the sequel! The goal with Project Warlock II is to take the gameplay you enjoyed from the original game and elevate it without losing the “Warlock soul”.
The ol’ and trusty character progression from the original Project Warlock is back in the form of Stats and Perks Points for you to find, scattered around the levels. Use them at the stations in the HUB - a level between the levels, similar to Workshop from the first game - and enhance your abilities to take the demonic carnage to another level.
Each Warlock disciple brings a few unique upgrades, allowing them to show off the full potential of their respective arsenals.
During your adventure in Project Warlock II you will find familiar demons, weapons and spells…

Beautiful, brutal oldschool fun
The game is long, so if you're expecting some eight hour blaze-through game, look elsewhere. This game was meant to be sipped like a finely aged spirit. While I sometimes stopped to examine the world around me, I didn't exactly go secret hunting most of the time. So I clocked in at a total of 22 hours. I'm expecting most players to get there somewhere around 15 hours at a normal pace. 10 if you're rushing it, but then you're probably missing most of the reason you should play this anyway. Level design is refreshingly open, as the devs have seen fit to be sparse with the invisible clipping walls that infest modern games. I hate overly baby proofed levels because I want to be creative on subsequent playthroughs. However, be aware that you can easily clip out of the levels if you decide to try and climb something that doesn't seem to be the right way. (If you love breaking out of levels, this game is going to be a treat for you, there's SO MUCH TO SEE!) Graphics aesthetics are so crisp. My only gripe which is a limitation with the choice to use sprites instead of 3D models, while I get that it's a stylistic choice, I wouldn't mind a 3D model DLC since those characters are so amazingly looking. Music is about 80% epic catchy hits and 15% with 5% WTF in there. But I'm chalking that up to personal preference rather than any failing of the musicians Luke and Jerry. Each characters area has its own musical style, so expect a wide variety of genres here. I was impressed by that range, well done! The RPG system is a bit deeper than your typical Borderlands FPS fair, and it does give you a reason to replay the game. Also, all three characters different powers and loadouts makes for fun theory crafting. NG+ also lets you replay all levels with one character, EPIC. Lastly, the story is too sparse, what's there is really good, but I found myself wanting more of it. Overall, the game is a bit rough around the edges, but it's also a huge solid chunk of fun.

Decent shooter, but...
Just finished the game on "Come Get Some". It was mostly fun, but not without problems. There were some terrain bugs where you can clip through and fall off map or get stuck, and the only way out is to reload. A lot of secrets seem rather poorly placed and are just sitting there in the open. Though, some like the closing door and the toilet hole switch in E1M1 were done very cleverly, and I had to look them up on the internet, but that's about it. The E1M1 had like 9 secrets, and I was expecting the rest of levels to have a similar number, but that wasn't the case. Most levels had just 1 to 3 and above 5 was almost unheard of. One thing I didn't like was how often the game locks you up in tight places with numerous monsters spawning all over, and you're supposed to kill them all before being allowed to leave. At first this wasn't a big deal, but in episode 3 it was starting to get frustrating. I often got locked up in very tight spaces with armies of monsters spawning nearby. The levels of episode 3 seemed a bit rushed as if the game dev was getting tired of his work and vented his frustration into designing these tight ambush spots with multiple boss-level monsters spawning in your face. He was like screw you, player, you're not getting past here! At one point in E3 I only managed to survive by hiding behind some boxes. Unlike the first Warlock game, this one went full 3D. Though some levels were huge, others were a bit small. I liked the multiple upgrade mechanic for weapons (I'll overlook the bugged pistol in E2), but some weapons did feel a but underpowered. The spells were of help as well, but they could use some better descriptions what exactly they're supposed to do. The first time I hit soul bargin in E3, I wasn't sure why my character is refusing to switch away from scythe. Anyhow, for the money you get a very decent shooter game, but it does have some problems, so I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 stars.
