Due to severe overpopulation, the planet Earth’s diameter is increasing with the growth of towering mega-cities, each inhabited by millions of humans. Buildings are growing ever-upwards, interconnected with a thick web of roads, walkways and service channels. In these giant human hives, only the affluent may feel the rays of the sun and breathe the cleaner air. Your team has been selected to go down and investigate problems at the Real Meat factory, in which all of the equipment has started to simultaneously malfunction. Technicians sent to repair the machinery have gone missing without explanation. The UPA's (Urban Protection Agency) orders are clear: prepare for the descent.
Project Eden is a 3D shooter with an emphasis on puzzle-solving. You'll lead a squad consisting of four UPA agents: Carter Dorlan, Andre Herderman, Minoko Molensky, and Amber Torrelson. Each operative has his or her own special ability that you'll need to master in order to progress. As Carter, use your knack for interrogation and nimble fingers to gain information and unlock doors. When you need something fixed and in a hurry, Andre is your man. Computer terminals are no match for Minoko's hacking talents. Last but not least, Amber can traverse hazardous environments with nary a scratch and she'll be your weapons expert. Brave the lowest strata and prepare to go through hell in Project Eden! If you're looking for some gritty cyberpunk-ish storytelling, challenging puzzles, and original gameplay (with optional drop-in, drop-out co-op), this is your game!
Lead 4 specialists in squad-based play into an abyss of vast caverns, snake-like tunnels, and derelict slums filled with cultists, gang-bangers, and mutants.
Morphing enemies will challenge you constantly, mutating as soon as you learn how to destroy them.
Descend into the darkness alone or with up to 3 friends in co-op multiplayer.
I just recently picked this title up never having heard of it, but reading the reviews here on this site gave it a go. I am having a hard time tearing myself away from this game which is a great deal more than I can say for some of the new releases I have purchased recently. I love the puzzles and some of them really make you think if not explore every different option to come up with a appropriate solution. If you don't have this game do yourself a favor and grab it now.
I actually own this on CD from years ago, but never could run it on my older system. Thanks to GoG, once again a great classic title comes home again. It is an amazing SciFi Adventure with a great mix of puzzles and shooter action.
Never really liked or played TPP action games before this one. I loved the level design, the satisfying logical puzzles, the atmosphere and the narrative. To my dissapointment, no other TPP game gave me that. I agree about the Lost Vikings vibes it gives, as mentioned by other reviewers.
I seriously cant get over how good this game is, im not even joking. This game runs circles around anything in the half life universe, and its not even on steam!
P.S.
I always use dxwrapper to convert all these old dx7 or dx8 games to dx9 first, it always works, in fact ive done it with hundreds of old games and never found one that DOESNT work with dxwrapper. and yes it even works if the game uses nglide.
Dxwrapper can force games into a window and other cool stuff like that because you can open the dxwrapper.ini file and look at all the different settings.. (first gooogle dxwrapper, read the install instructions and click link to download it from the releases page, not the master file zip one). Its so easy to use you just grab the single file D3D8.DLL from the stub folder. Then go back to the main folder and grab just the two other files, dxwrapper.dll and dxwrapper.ini files which are always needed regardless of whichever single stub you choose.
if its a dx7 game then enable the setting in the ini called dx7to9, and if its a dx8 game use the setting called dx8to9. You simply change the 0 to a 1 and save
then if your even crazier you can rename the executable to Factorio.exe and enjoy using nvidia freestyle with it to enable SSAO ambient occlusion (alt+f3 to bring up menu in game). Or just use reshade
Nostalgic, actually good quality questing. Four stars instead of five because your squad is not the most intelligent and gets to be a bit annoying unless you micromanage. A new version of this game in an open world setting would be excellent! It plays well in 4k, no lag, surprisingly good after all these years.
