Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
GOG claims this game doesn't work on macOS, but I was randomly picking out shooters to play that I own and this installed just fine. Turok 2 also is claimed to be unsupported but will also install.
My only issue is that I can't make an online account. I get a message saying I must own a copy of the game, which I clearly do.
I only gave 5 stars because I didn't expect to be able to play at all and I really wanted to, but I really hope they fix the online account issue I'm having.
That's what I want Doom should be. Fortunately Prodeus team did it !
There is everything you want from a Doom like :
- powerfull weapons, with a real punch back
- A LOT OF GORE !
- Awesome soundtrack
- Incredible level design
- no story or f....g cutscenes
- Good amount of ammos and needs of using every weapons
- Very fast !
- Not easy with needs of skills
But some things should be tweaked/modified :
- no reload !
- full 3D items, not only the ennemies
- save key, instead of checkpoints
- respawn of ennemies after death (thanks to save key)
- remap weapons on shortkeys (2 pistols, 3 shotguns, 4 minigun, 5 grenades / rocket launcher, 6 plasma gun, 7 chaos gun)
If Bethesda knew how to make a Doom game this is what would have come out the other end bar pixelated graphics.
None of that walk the linear corridor=> monster arena => corridor crap, awesome classic doom like level design.
Basically if your an old ass boomer like myself who has grown up with wolf3d and Doom you can probably afford to slap down 24 euros for this game
