Pro Pinball- Timshock! Brings you full 3D pinball table on screen with a specially recorded soundtrack by Bruce Foxton and Jake Burns of Stiff Little Fingers. The table is so detailed you'll even think you can see your reflection in the careering ball and gleaming metal fittings. This is the most complex, rewarding, frustrating and entertaining experience ever.
A challenging and well-designed table with lots of score-boosting quests
Fun and addictive gameplay for both the casual gamer and the pinball professional
Highly detailed pre-rendered graphics and realistic physics

this game is great but you should be aware that the version you'll get is the DOS version, it runs just fine on XP but you're limited to a 1024x768 resolution (the Windows version supports up to 1600x1200).
The 'Pro Pinball' games, created by 'Another Cunning Development' are a series renowned for their quality and attention to detail, and 'Timeshock!' is the best of the series. Always focussed on quality over quantity, each Pro Pinball game comprises a single table; but what a table!
Graphics and audio were stunning at the time, and are still truly superb today thanks partly to the fixed view point, but mostly due to the beautiful realisation of the theme, and the sheer level of detail to which the table was designed and rendered (be certain to use the 'Examine table' option from the options menu to appreciate this -- as well as to better learn the rules of Timeshock!)
Of course gameplay is the key, and Timeshock is superlative. The physics are excellent (as you would expect), and the table packs enough features to be exciting from the get-go, without being overwhelming (at least not at first!), and it is obvious that the table will reward skill as you improve. The gameplay is highly addictive, as you identify the challenges available, and try to achieve them.
The 'Table rules' screen details the full extent of challenge that awaits if you are good enough; but for the rest of us, know that the lesser achievements of the game are effective goals in themselves, and so the game is rewarding for wizards and novices alike.
For serious pinball lovers, Timeshock was easily worth the asking price on release. At $6 for a game that looks, sounds, and plays just as wonderfully as it did 12 years ago, Timeshock is a game that no one who enjoys pinball should even think of ignoring. This is a true "best of its class" title; as good an old game as you could hope to find. Thank you Empire and GOG for bringing this cunning development back to the masses.
As a collector of computer pinball simulations, and a fan of real pinball, I can attest to this being the best pinball simulation ever made. Since pinball itself, and pinball simulation games have gone out of style, this may remain the best ever pinball simulation. I have a huge collection of pinball simulators, and this is the best looking and most realistic pinball dynamics simulator I have. The ball response to the bumpers, flippers, and table nudging is uncanny. The table layout is not the best of all that are available, but it is still very good, with a large number of special modes and missions. There is a lot of potential playtime here, if you want to try out all the modes and unlock all of the special features in this table. Highly recommended -- if you only ever purchase one pinball simulator, make it Timeshock.
"Pro Pinball: Timeshock" review.
A few of you are going to pass on this one, if only for the fact you see $5.99 for one (1) table.
Let me say you are missing out!
Timeshock, may be only one table, but it has enough to it that you will not need another (until the other Pro Pinball games are out at least).
After several days of playing, I'm still finding new parts to this game. And I know there are more hidden areas to it.
Aside from a general pinball game, you can cross different epochs and locations in time if you hit the right combinations of ramps, buttons, bumpers and switches. Each epoch/location, has it's own mini games.
The aim, is to reach every epoch, and, as with any pinball game, increase your score.
Timeshock also includes "Video Mode" another minigame where, you control a character on the dotmatrix grid, either with the flippers, or my hitting the ball into various places on the game area.
Be sure to read the manual if you are a 'pro' pinball fan. You'll understand it better than I. But for the casual fan, it's best to hone your skills a fair bit. Getting the timing and spin of the ball right is almost essential to gaining any decent score.
Graphically, it works as well as it can. There is nothing negative to say about it. This version, will restrict resolution and colour lower than it can be, but it does a decent job.
The soundtrack is very impressive. Starting of in the modern epoch, it's a very powerful rocking tune. This will change depending on time period, area of the world, video mode, current bonus scenario and so on.
High quality, and well produced - good enough to listen to on it's own.
...and I have no idea why nobody at GOG has bothered doing it yet.

The Windows version now runs just as well as the other two Pro Pinballs, minus the start screen animations going too fast. The actual game is unaffected.
