Questionable ethics & semi-DRM
I'm happy I didn't pay for this, very first task of the tutorial mission is to build a death chamber. Guess I never quit a game that fast. Paradox Installer installs automatically and starts by default, almost urging for registering a Paradox account. You can start the game without that by running it directly from the game directory though. Being on a platform for DRM free games you shouldn't get tricked into registering an Paradox Account, even thought i looks like to be technically DRM free.

Too hard and its grapics are terrible
Prison Architect even nowadays is just a game that's too painfully hard for all the wrong reasons and its outdated graphics are just awful.

Ethically "questionable"
So, in the very tutorial, you're shown a "working" prison and you're supposed to build a *check notes* death chamber with an electric chair. *check notes again and stares at screen* OK, for the purpose of roughly objective review, I finished the first mission. You get access to various stuff you can tweak your for-profit prison with. You can build pavements, walls, libraries and murder devices. It seems to me if this kind of energy would be invested to say school building, it would make for a very pleasant game. But after you manage to kill your first victim, you're thrown into prison, that is for legitimate reasons on fire. No, thank you. If you want to play this game and get a good time for your money, make sure you can handle the darkest, scariest and most brutal edges of this game. I for sure wasn't. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to take a few showers.

Last game I get on GOG
Well, the good ol days of not needing some online BS (gog galaxy) to play a MFing game is over. So, I install prison architect, hit 'play' and nothing happens. So I download the 'offline' files that are no longer default with any of the games on this site. As I'm installing the offline files, a message pops up saying the file is corrupted. I re-download and try to reinstall the offline file with the same result. Listen close GOG... NOBODY wants to be tethered to some stupid online client to play their otherwise offline games. This garbage is a total hindrance and will suicide your company that caters to people that appreciate the simpler days of good games that didn't require some nebulous middle man. I'm a power customer here with 40+ games and this is the last one I get. I can use steam if I want the aggravation of an Orwellian DRM nose up my butt 24/7. At least then I probably wouldn't get a half-baked product for the irritation. Take a note from literally everyone that is fed-up with these monolithic companies milking the gaming industry to death. Somebody else will jump on the hole in the market that all these companies created by alienating customers. Or, people will simply pirate what they want. I gladly gave you guys money in the past because your company had good titles, deals, and delivery. Now, you have none because the system makes the games unplayable in any capacity.
