Build and manage a Maximum Security Prison. As the sun casts it’s early morning rays on a beautiful patch of countryside the clock starts ticking. You’ve got to crack on and build a holding cell to detain the job-lot of maximum security prisoners that are trundling to your future prison on their yellow bus. As your workmen lay the last brick you don’t have a moment to let them rest as they need to get started on the first proper cell block so you can make room for the next prisoner intake. Once they’ve all got a place to lay their weary heads the fun can really start. You’ll need a canteen, infirmary and a guard room, oh, and don’t forget to plumb in a toilet, or things will get messy, but what about a workout area? Or solitary confinement cells? Or an execution chamber?
Inspired by Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Theme Hospital and with over 1 million players having spent time inside, Prison Architect is the world’s best lock-em-up.

At last someone add planing option in a building game. I was wanting this option for a decade in any kind of building games, like city building games. It was so stupid to start build a road or something else spend lots of money and got unhappy about result at the end. Simple planing tool awesome.
Nice job guys keep up the good work.
For now, its little bit expensive for me tho.
Whislisted!
(based on my steam copy, (GOG I bought it there because of steam's cloud saving capability, take note)
What it lacks in polishing tiny details it has for tons of addictive gameplay.
Developers paid a great deal of attention to build a terrific sim-tycoon-build-your-own-prison experience. With everything that comes with it. Having your first riot contained gets you proud. Don't be fouled, you'll get beaten just when you think you have everything under control. On the surface you get jokes and fun times. But at the core of prison architect you get a really deep simulation about life in prison. Logistics, accountability, psychology, life support, security, etc... almost every thinkable aspect. And this is all mixed with so funny situations. Just don't try to know about each and all of your inmates too much, you do that and it will hurt more :)
Cons, only a little things to work on, I have an ok rig and yet I feel it does not go that smooth (on all high specs only) . More items and better item/area placement logic would be welcome, but I feel this is not only a finished game, is a landmark game that big publishing game companies should take as an example on how to do a great game.
In Prison Architect you build and manage a prison. The game is pretty basic but complete and with nice artwork. There is a short campaign that also serves as a tutorial. The game is not very challenging in itself and seems pretty hard to really mess things up. I also believe that the inmates get ahold of "contraband" too easily.
Version 1.0 comes with "Escape Mode" where you get to play a prisoner. It's a very fun experience to try to escape from a prison that you built.
