Non-nostalgic review - dated classic
Purchase it when on sale and appreciate the way it influenced inumerable subsequent games. The storytelling is charming, the setting is focused and atmospheric, and I had a massive smile on my face after finishing the game. But certainly it shows its age and has many flaws. Several rope jumps didn't seem to work well with a gamepad and I had to revert to a keyboard and mouse for those sections. Combat is clunky and tedious, and your most difficult enemy is usually the camera, resulting in a bit of nausea from frequent camera gyrations and I had to sit extra far back from the monitor to ease that. Most of the difficult combat sections can be cheesed if you trick the enemy pathfinding, but unfortunately the *cough* elevator section can't. Luckily, save files are easily available on the internet to carry you past any given checkpoint if needed.

Arabian Nights
I remember playing the Sands of Time trilogy when I was in high school. The story of the first game is fitting right into the Arabian Nights, the music is phenomenal and the time manipulating abilities were absolutely jawdropping. The only drawback is the sudden camera changes that sometimes make platforming more challenging than intended.

Enjoying this game
This is one of the prince of persia trilogy from way back. once you get used to the mechanics it's a really enjoyable game. The only thing that isn't great is the fighting sequences. Rewind is great, just don't save with very little health. Otherwise you'll end up fighting the same enemies over and over until you get lucky. Saves are a little spread out in some areas. It seems like enemies keep respawning, but there is only so many and then it's over. Later on it seems like wave after wave. It's a fun game though. Almost identical game play as the two thrones or warrior within. Heck even the forgotten sands. Which I played first and then thought to go back and check the trilogy out again. Puzzles, jumping, running along walls, and holding onto columns are the best parts IMO. Well worth it if you like POP and it's on sale. Playing with afterglow PS3 controller works well.

Very nice title, I've good time playing it. Some bugs, but nothing too annoying.
