Worth a replay
One of my favourite PS2 games. The time rewind mechanic is still wonderful to use, and the puzzles and platforming still hold up. The combat is probably the least interesting part of the game, and the story is relatively simple, but they all come together to create a game that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Time is Not Always Kind
Sands of Time is an interesting game to come back to after over twenty years. It's a simple story backed by level designs that still hold up quite well. 3D platforming can be very hit or miss and the rewind mechanic helps quite a bit with making the enviromental platforming and puzzles feel great to navigate. My biggest issue with Sands of Time is its combat, it's simple and barebones, you have barely any control as to which target you lock on to, a lot of the fight sections go on for far too long and towards the end the enemies simply deny every move you attempt. Sands of Time was fun to experience again when it comes to the platforming sections but the combat just felt awful after a while and I honestly was glad to see the credits roll. It's a decent game to play through at least once but the combat alone may be enough to make you want to drop this title early.
