In the midst of a land rooted in Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the forces of Good and Evil: the God of Light, Ormazd, against his brother Ahriman, the God of Evil and destruction. He becomes a witness to the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life - an act which threatens to plunge the world into darkness for eternity. A black substance called "The Corruption" begins to contaminate the ground and even the sky itself. Our heroic Prince, together with the enigmatic and dangerous Elika, must do all that he can to rid the world from this ultimate evil.
Featuring a re-imagined Prince and a beautiful cel-shaded world, Prince of Persia is chock full of the awesome acrobatics and free-form fighting that are the series’ hallmark. A huge, open world awaits you, intrepid adventurer. Will you be the one to cleanse the world of Ahriman's corruptive influence?
Non-linear gameplay in a detailed, open-ended world.
Masterful storytelling and lavish environments guarantee a cinematic action-adventure experience
Introducing Elika, a deadly and mysterious ally, who’s gifted with magical talents and dazzling acrobatic prowess.
I played this game long time ago and had a blast with it. I like more games to open world like this one where it keeps it enough to experience the game as a whole within the story and gameplay. I hope to see other games developers try the same thing in this game to tell a story. It's simple gameplay where anyone can have a challenge and fun parkour game to jump and fight to next level.
The graphics are great and the story is interesting, but the combat I can't abide by. I get it's supposed to be like the original PoP on DOS with the timing based puzzle like combat, but as someone who prefers mindless hack and slashers it really hit me the wrong way. Also not very good keyboard+mouse layout.

I loved Prince of Persia much more than the sum of its parts. Platforming is not extremely well balanced and I think the Prince humor is out of place, but the story unfolds in an interesting way, the world is vibrant and beautiful, and the interaction with Elika is really charming. The ending left me speechless.
Don't get upset about the Epilogue absence on PC since it's garbage.
Audio missing here and there, loading extremely slow and my PC spec is pretty good.
Bought this game because I had a good memory about it long time ago, very disappointed.
This game is made for console. Console gamers want the controls to be easy, if they happen to feel lost in the game, they want an instant magic light to show them the way, when they die they want to respawn just a couple of seconds before they failed. They want to be told which buttons to press during fights. They want to run over the map to collect a million lights put there for them to collect. And they get all this in Prince of Persia. Unfortunately this is not what I'm expecting of a game, and it was somewhat irritating.
So why am I rating 5 stars? Because the game is so fantastically beautiful that it was pleasant to play anyway, just to watch the world! After every part of the game, a part of the world is cleaned from the black plague, and it changes appropriately.
The game is a bit repetitive, but not to the point when you just don't believe anything new will happen. The story is not bad, although way less beautiful than in Sands of Time. The fighting system is interesting, although very console-gamers-targeted.
In general I must say not everyone will like it, but for me it was both fun and challenging at times. Maybe I'll even play it again in the next couple of years :)
