In the midst of a land rooted in Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the forces of Good and Evil: the God of Light, Ormazd, against his brother Ahriman, the God of Evil and destruction. He becomes a witness to the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life - an act which threatens to plunge the world into darkness for eternity. A black substance called "The Corruption" begins to contaminate the ground and even the sky itself. Our heroic Prince, together with the enigmatic and dangerous Elika, must do all that he can to rid the world from this ultimate evil.
Featuring a re-imagined Prince and a beautiful cel-shaded world, Prince of Persia is chock full of the awesome acrobatics and free-form fighting that are the series’ hallmark. A huge, open world awaits you, intrepid adventurer. Will you be the one to cleanse the world of Ahriman's corruptive influence?
Non-linear gameplay in a detailed, open-ended world.
Masterful storytelling and lavish environments guarantee a cinematic action-adventure experience
Introducing Elika, a deadly and mysterious ally, who’s gifted with magical talents and dazzling acrobatic prowess.
The contempt for this game is unreal. Most games are go here, collect this, do that, rinse and repeat. That's what this is and so is almost everything else. You climb around beautiful scenery, have a pretty girl with you that saves you from repeating the same area over and over, fight a few bosses, listen to the story, and finish the game. the ending is one of my top fives.
I played this game long time ago and had a blast with it. I like more games to open world like this one where it keeps it enough to experience the game as a whole within the story and gameplay. I hope to see other games developers try the same thing in this game to tell a story. It's simple gameplay where anyone can have a challenge and fun parkour game to jump and fight to next level.
The game looks great...plays fine (though it took me quite some time to get used to the controls...) but the gameplay & story were very poorly made, in comparison to my previous Prince of Persia games.
To summarise the game - it is a platformer. You unlock lads in the world, and then collect the globes, which will help you unlock more places. And again, and again, and so on. So, if you're really into easy platformers, and it is your jam - then look no further, and get this game.
The fighting is very simplistic - you hit, you parry, and repeat. Any enemy that you bring to the edge can be overthrown (in most battles). It became too boring, too quickly.
And soundtrack and the story - really did not hit me. It just feels like this game was purely made for children or otherwise, the fans of platformers. It is a nice game but too simple and blunt.
I completed this game back in the day on my Xbox 360 and I must say that all the criticism was dumb. Yes, there's a checkpoint at most platforms, but in the end it's like saving after every jump, which can be done in basically 90% of the games.
The story is great, the combat is very nice and the platforming is also good, don't miss this opportunity!
