What happened to the humans? Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off pieces of machinery, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, who finds his peaceful existence threatened when a rogue robot steals his power core—the sole source of energy fueling his ship and keeping him alive. To recover it, the robot and his companion, Crispin, must leave behind their idyllic home for Metropol, the city of glass and light. Their quest to reclaim what has been taken away will lead Horatio to unexpected discoveries about his origins—and a new understanding of the humans who walked the earth before him.

  • A streamlined interface, player-friendly design combined with the challenge and depth of the classics.
  • Features over fifty hand-drawn rooms to explore, dozens of distinctive characters to meet, and gorgeous painted cutscenes to soak in.

Amazing story, beautifully told

What an incredible journey. Primordia is a fantastic point and click adventure in the style of old, but with its own sense of originality. Set in a grimy post-human world populated by mans remaining robot creations, you take the role of Horatio (And sometimes his wise-cracking sidekick, Crispin) as they are trying to repair their ship, the Uniic. As events unfold, you are set on the path across a gloriously created wasteland, full of interesting and unusual characters, before ultimately setting your sights on Metropol, 'the city of glass and light', a supposed haven where power flows freely to its inhabitants. The characters are written superbly, and are entirely convincing with professional voice actors who also lent their talents to Gemini Rue. The environments are well designed making you want to explore everything and talk to everyone to find out the rich history of the world and why it is the way it is. The puzzles are strangely logically at times, which is refreshing when compared to games like Machinarium (I am terrible at Machinarium) but still feel incredibly rewarding to complete. Primordia also features several endings based on your decisions during the game and near the end. As a side note, I found the Religion of Man to be an incredibly well presented metaphor, it fits the story perfectly and the relative characters are all interesting especially Ever-Faithful Leobuilt. All in all, a fantastic game and well worth your time. I cannot praise Primordia enough!!

Amazing Adventure

I love point and click adventure games. This is a great game. The art is beautiful! I love the story. I think the voice acting is good. This wasn't clunky to play. It wasn't full of illogical puzzles. I recommend this game if you like adventures games and want something with a mysterious, foreboding ambiance. This game is up there with Gemini Rue for me.

Beautifully Crafted Universe

This is one of the most fascinating concepts for a game. It takes place in the distance future after man has died out. "Life" continues, however, with humanity's last creation: the robot. After many years mankind begins to fade into myth, claimed by some to be made up, and revered by others as something akin to a god. You play through this game as Horatio, a robot hoping to repair the decrepit, and rusted world around him. I don't want to delve too deep, as exploring, and learning first-hand about the game's world is one beautiful aspect about playing this. As far as game play, this game is pretty much par for the course when it comes to Point+click games. If you are somebody who finds these types of games difficult, you can defer to your robot companion in order to get some helpful hints. That said, as I recall the solution to a puzzle is never explicitly told to you. I would classify this game as reasonably difficult. (Especially if you are like me and you try to avoid hints altogether). The art style is another fairly strong point to this game. Each scene is wonderfully detailed, and it is clear the artists took their time with each environment. The only complaint I can think of is a personal complaint. The color pallete is a little too brown, and dull at times. That said, it is personally understandable given the setting of the game, and the subject matter. In any case, I would absolutely recommend this game. Any minor faults I had were made up by the incredibly strong concept, like-able characters, and entertaining dialogue, which left me very happy with this purchase.

Highly recommended!

Very good and atmospheric game. Good, sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful dialogs and immersive storyline. Game's unique atmosphere catches right from the start and does not let go till the very end. Good music too. Game can be a bit challenging and I had to use walkthrough few times, but that probably is due to my inexperience with adventure games. Highly recommended.

Masterpiece

If you enjoyed playing Beneath a steel sky, you will love this game! In fact, I think Primordia has been inspired from it. Nice puzzles, nice storyboard, nice old-school artwork, music and speech. I score the game 10/10
