Description
What happened to the humans? Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off pieces of machinery, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, who finds his peaceful existence threatened when a rogue robot steals his power core—the sole source of energy fueling his ship and keeping him alive. To recover it, the robot and his companion, Crispin, must leave behind their idyllic home for Metropol, the city of glass and light. Their quest to reclaim what has been taken away will lead Horatio to unexpected discoveries about his origins—and a new understanding of the humans who walked the earth before him.

  • Puzzles that emphasize logical thinking and exploration rather than trial and error or pointless backtracking.
  • A streamlined interface, player-friendly design combined with the challenge and depth of the classics.
  • Features over fifty hand-drawn rooms to explore, dozens of distinctive characters to meet, and gorgeous painted cutscenes to soak in.

Instant Classic

This retrogame finally achieves what most retrogames dont: It modernizes the genre with fluid gamedesign while giving you a nostalic feeling, has an clever story with a totally innovative twist on a sensible religious topic (evolution vs intelligent design) , "moebius"-esque landscapes and otherworldy mood and weird machines, a unique visual setting, funny dialoge and loveable characters, outsanding voiceacting, clever puzzles that are never too easy or too hard (and if they are, you always have your sidekick to give a little hint without spoiling anything), several completely different endings, and it is a satisfying experience from beginning to end which lasts a good amount of hours and money value. Easily the best game I played on Gog so far. The only little nitpicking critique if I had to name any (and it really is nothing comapred to the greatness of this game) is that they might have added 1 or 2 more animations to the main character when he is walking. But nothing changes my last word: PLAY THIS GAME!

Not a bad first adventure game.

As a guy who's never played a point-and-click adventure game before, this game is surprisingly good. The gameplay is a bit challenging for me because I'm not used to "adventure logic" at all, and I found myself frequently using tips. That being said, it's not very hard at all, once you get the hang of it. All-in-all, it took me only five hours or so to beat it and see every combination. Save frequently, though, because there are several parts that can change the course of gameplay, and playing through parts again can be a little tedious if you want to see every combination of events. Animations are moderately good; they're nothing special, but not jarringly bad. The game shines with its artwork, story, and audio. It's got a great post-apocalypticy feel to it all. The artwork is charmingly pixelated, and the audio is great! It works to create a good ambiance, and I found myself submersed in the game. The music is worthy of being listened to alone, so I'm grateful GOG has put the soundtrack up for us. The story drives the plot forward, even through the strange gameplay. Interesting characters, strange new settings, and a few easter-eggs thrown in keep the story alive and fresh. I would recommend any science fiction fan to pick this game up, if not for the gameplay, for the wonderful story.

Wonderful

When I play adventure games I look forward to retro visuals, unique character, amazing narratives and wonderful voice actors. The game falls short on the story at the end but it is just beautiful as a game. This game is wonderful. It has great visuals, though they are very "brown" and for me... The best part is wonderful voiced narratives. In adventure games you can sometimes get stale voice actors. An example being A New Beginning. That was a game that would have been absolutely SUPERB but they fell short on 2/3 of their voice overs. This game is not one that falls short. To me this comes close or is even on par with Bastion. Seriously the actors make this game go the extra mile. I think everyone who is a fan of adventure games should give this a shot. I thought it was wonderful. Well worth my money.

Very touching for a game about robots

The graphics are beautifully done, the backgrounds are very well drawn and the characters are also very well animated, although sometimes their movement seems a bit clunky, although that may be because the animations/characters sometimes clash with the background. Despite that it is very pleasant to watch. The sound design is really good. The music is really nice to listen to, although it could have been a bit more progressive/experimental for my taste. The voices are, for the most part, really well done. Sometimes there are some strange moments where the voice acting doesn't fit with the overall situation (maybe because that bit was recorded only once and used many times) but the interaction between the various robots is superb! The most important parts though are the settings, the characters and the story (also the writing). So far this is the best video game story that I have seen this year(middle of April 2013). The setting itself is just so interesting and the characters are so well done that you sometimes forget that they are supposed to be robots. Humans are not without faults and as we can see their creation is not without faults, too but that's what makes the story so special. You feel with and for them and, unlike the games that have come out so far this year, it is really engaging because on the one side it is rather epic (at least I assume that it concerns the whole world) but on the other hand it is very down to earth.

Great Adventure!

I love this game. It strongly reminds me of Beneath a Steel Sky. All puzzles were fair (except for one) and your little sidekick gives you hints if you get stuck, which is a really nice game mechanic. The story has some nice twist and turns
