Features:
Unique visuals inspired by medieval manuscripts and medical books.
Hyper satisfying physical interactions with ingredients and equipment.
Sandbox style gameplay where you have many different avenues available, and it’s up to you to figure out the best way to complete each task.
Sell your potions to the townsfolk while roleplaying as a noble artisan, a greedy weasel, an occult dark master, or whomever else you may wish to be!
Work with all sorts of ingredients
Leaves, flowers, berries, roots, fruits, minerals, and a plethora of mushrooms are at the ready for your mortar and pestle. Just like espresso, the fineness of the grind matters!
Learn the art of potion making
Concoct your potion plan. Grind ingredients and carefully mix them in your cauldron. Heat the coals. Boil and stir. Add the base: water, oil, or… something else. Congrats on your first potion! Was it easy to learn? Now try mastering it!
Experiment and invent new recipes
Carefully plan your route via the Alchemy Map to combine different effects. Be mindful of common sense: you won’t find a market for a poisonous healing potion… right? Or would you?
Sell potions
Every day customers will come to your store looking for solutions to their problems. You will face consequences depending on what you decide to sell them. Attract guilds, befriend notable figures (or feud with them), gain riches and influence - and one day, you may even decide the fate of the whole town.
Buy ingredients or grow your own
Every alchemist needs ingredients, and there are many ways to get them! You can buy them from traveling merchants: it can be pricey, but successful haggling may save you some coin. Or take matters into your own hands and cultivate your very own enchanted garden. Grow a variety of ingredients, from vibrant herbs to exotic mushrooms and even magical crystals, each essential for brewing your unique potions!
Get creative with customizing
Want to give your best potions a special look? Go for it! Change the bottle shape, label type, icon and colours. You can even give it a custom name and label description. Carefully arrange your unique potions to showcase them on your shop's shelves and tables... or go a step further and customize your shop itself! Choose from a variety of furniture and shelving to give your alchemy shop a personal touch that matches your style. We won't tell you what to do, just have fun!

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Then game has a grind with the added fun of it being a limp noodle to guide around the map.
Nexus Mods has many ways around this, and having done that this is a very nice very purchase-worthy game, (on sale as they seem to have forgotten about a garden update).
Endless sandboxing as a potion maker.
Lots of bottle/label customization.
Get it for sure, but get it on $ale.
You need to balance the need for exploration the alchemy map and proceeding with legendary recipes while also keeping enough ingredients to keep customers happy. The loop is fun and relaxing, but I can see how it can become tedious after a couple of hours of seeing slower and slower progress.
This is a labyrinth navigation puzzle game with some minor realtime skill aspects, and casual resource management disguised as a fantasy job simulator.
Can be tedious, but very enjoyable casual time filler.
The objective is to make potion products with varying magical effect to complete client wishes or components of an ulimate project. The way you do this is by moving your potion-pawn around on a map using various ingredients as fuel that determine its path, and clicking some knobs and levers to traverse that path at a rate you control. The visuals are not immersive, but the activity feels very much like making a potion and carefully tweaking the recipe with just enough of something or other to get it just right.
Like any job simulator, it becomes tedious if you play it to try and achieve extrinsic objectives. Requests will become repetitive, and some of their added requirements will be impossible or too bothersome to attempt. Eventually, they will seemingly request expensive recipes and pay very little for them. This is because the game encourages always optimizing your recipes! The first one you make is not always the best, and as you find more ingredients and reveal more of the maps, you find also cheaper ways of making the same products.
Realtime skill comes in when dealing with portals on the map. The portals spin when you heat up the cauldron, and when your pawn is caught in them, they also spin around its center. This motion is like free movement and can be used to "cheat" if you are quick enough and set up your paths properly. If you are too slow, your potion will be teleported somewhere, usually unfavorably or into a dead end. Tho the portals are optional, so use them skillfully or ignore.
The fun is in the zen of working as an alchemist and finding the most optimal recipes for your budget and common client requests, like... building an arsenal of answers to questions by driving a pawn around on a map with weird fuel? Something like this. I enjoy it.
The updates to the game that allow us to customize our garden and shop really add to an already great base experience! The puzzle aspects of uncovering the potion paths and learning the nuances of the potion making process are extremely rewarding! Post game can be less fun after you've finished the alchemist path and have every potion customers frequently ask for on a parchment to click and make, though the new talent tree helps a little with making haggling less frustrating and more fun. My one wish for a future update would be to see the effects of the potions we create, it would take this game from good to great!
What it says on the Tin Alchemist simulator is the act of discovering, perfecting, and selling potions its well worth the money and it still gets big updates from time to time whats not to love?
