Outrageous, but not very interesting

In a way this game is the epitome of the kind of freedom a video game can offer, because it plops you into mundane, everyday situations and then lets you solve them with extreme and absurd violence. And it is fun to do that, but the game doesn't offer a lot of depth and I lost interest in it after less than two hours. The other big aspect, the game's humour, is... there, it's a very 2000s, extremely usamerican, post-9/11 kind of humour that's offensive in the most toothless, inoffensive way. It's hard to describe but it didn't help to keep me interested. All in all, Postal 2 is exactly what you'd expect it to be but ends up losing its luster quickly.

You'll regret nothing

Never has there been a more delicate and considered balance of jank, 90s irony/satire, calculated bad taste, and considered, careful implementation of meticulously thought-out gameplay mechanics. Despite essentially having operated at varying levels of functionality over the years and the updates, from 'barely working' in the beginning to 'mostly operational' now, Postal 2 has nevertheless always been a blast to play. It sets you loose in a fun open world and encourages you to explore and have a good time through breaking it. It's less edgy than its isometric predecessor whose name really isn't important anymore, possibly due to being released post-Columbine, but that's essentially to its credit. Although it can get a little dark and brutal depending upon how you choose to play, it never has too much of an impact to it and I always feel like it takes place in the same universe as say, Married With Children, so I can never take it too seriously. The gunplay works, the hit point loss/restoration mechanics are easy to understand, and the weapons and mechanics that break functionality at least do so entertainingly. And it always seems like some new weird thing happens every time I go through it. The devs have also made almost every piece of additional content they've ever released free as of this time, and as of me writing this the game itself is being given away for free on GOG. So what's to lose? I know I regret nothing.

GOG'S Version of The Orange Box

Best deal since Valve's Orange Box. Postal 2, Share The Pain, and Apocalypse Weekend, for only $9.99?! Seems unreal, but it isn't. Postal 2 is a great FPS that can classify as a stress reliever. It's not about story or meaning. It's about knocking the crap out of cops with a shovel.

Is good

Postal 2 is a game where you can piss on cats. That's it I'm sold. Ok to be honest here (I'm only doing this so that GOG doesn't remove my amazing review) the game seems to have been ported perfectly with absolutly no problems on modern hardware. The game as itself anyway is so much fun. Take GTA but remove all of that mission bullshit and you get just such a fun game, did I mention it's fun? I know, I'm a horrible person for pissing on all the cats.
