Shaman, the path is laid before you. Your destiny is to become a god! But it will not be easy. Not for you, and not for your followers. To become a deity, you must conquer all 25 planets of the system and defeat every other tribe and their shamans. The ultimate struggle will be a difficult one, as you build mystical cities, unleash devastating spells, harness volcanoes and tornadoes, and shape the face of the planet at your will. Remember, your apotheosis awaits!
In the third part of the Populous series, you control your shaman and the tribe of her followers in a difficult quest to conquer all 25 planets of a star system and ascend to godhood. For the first time in the series, the world is presented in true 3d, which at the time amazed both the players and the gaming press.The level of control you exert over your followers also takes you to a new level: you can order individuals or groups to perform certain tasks like gathering resources, constructing buildings, or attacking your enemies.
Populous: The Beginning takes a slightly different approach from the previous installments of the series but this is not, by any means, a bad thing as it kept the series fresh and innovative. It was a bold move for Bullfrog but the proof exists in the fact that, after all these years Populous 3 is still a great strategy god-game.

I found it!!!
After a move, my very old, loved and used Pop3 disk was destroyed. :( While I had the files installed on an older disk, from my Win XP days, I couldn't get Win 8 to make it work when copied over to a new hard drive I got when I recently upgraded my gamer box. (Yeah, there's a few of us old grandma's out here who can build our own boxes and love to game, age doesn't matter when you game). When I saw the section here for Bullfrog games, I prayed I'd find this game and I did. Thank you GOG. Now I'm off to see if you have the other game that's CD was also broken in the move (never again will I have non gamers help me move!!!), which is FreeLancer. These two games are my most played over the years and the thought of not having them isn't pretty, to say the least.

Great game, no support
Always loved Populous, it was one of the first games I played, so I was super excited to experience it again. Unfortunately it's basically unplayable... While it loads, there are constant and numerous issues. Shouldn't release a game unless it's stable, otherwise it's pointless.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
PLEASE make this Windows 8 and 8.1 compatible! I miss this game beyond words. And another thing that would be superb, is native widescreen support. I wouldn't mind paying R500 for this if it happens...

One of my favorite games ever
Everyone should play this great RTS. GOG's requirements are very very wrong though. The actual requirements are. 1mb video memory 133mhz CPU 16mb of RAM 400mb of hard drive space soundblaster or compatible sound
