In the third part of the Populous series, you control your shaman and the tribe of her followers in a difficult quest to conquer all 25 planets of a star system and ascend to godhood. For the first time in the series, the world is presented in true 3d, which at the time amazed both the players and the gaming press.The level of control you exert over your followers also takes you to a new level: you can order individuals or groups to perform certain tasks like gathering resources, constructing buildings, or attacking your enemies.
Populous: The Beginning takes a slightly different approach from the previous installments of the series but this is not, by any means, a bad thing as it kept the series fresh and innovative. It was a bold move for Bullfrog but the proof exists in the fact that, after all these years Populous 3 is still a great strategy god-game.

Game doesn't launch on latest Win10 x64
The game is awesome, but this one simply does not work on latest Windows 10 (20H2) + Nvidia drivers / DirectX. Tried all possible combinations of DirectX settings with different resolutions / refresh rates and other tricks. Support replies with ridiculous list of points like add exceptions to antivirus, install latest updates, reboot your computer, what so ever. Of course it didn't work. GOG should just stop offering this in the store until they have a solution. One start is not for the game but for GOG not doing their job.

Does not work with Intel 10th gen chips
I loved this game as a kid and was super excited to see it here. imagine my dissappointment when i bought it then tried to play it, only to find out that is wont load the game. nothing i did worked. the part that made me the most angry is that GOG knows this and DID NOT put a warning before you purchase. ive since got a refund but i find it shady that there isnt a warning on the game.
