Good Fun - Start on Easy
It's like Jydge crossed with Door Kickers. Neon 80s aesthetic that looks great, action gameplay, but slower and more methodical than I think a lot of people are used to for this genre. Good pacing, fun in-between story parts, and enough different equipment to experiment with to keep you entertained. But play through the first time on Easy. The game is as harsh as Katana Zero: you will die and have to redo levels a lot. And most of the time it come down to twitch reaction times where you need to identify that a guy is pointing a gun at you and then shoot him before he shoots you. You're not allowed to shoot anyone until you're under direct threat, and it can make for some pretty interesting, but occasionally frustrating situations. On the other hand you get a lot of stun-based equipment so if you're getting gunned down too much you're probably playing the game too shooter-y (like me). So start on easy to enjoy the action and get a feel for the game before you over-challenge yourself. My only real complaint is that it's a bit short. Fine for the price, but I want more levels. I think the developers knew this since there's some custom level options, but I would rather have seen a series of challenge missions or something unlock upon completing the story. They super set up the end for a sequel so I'm looking forward to that. If you like top-down action games and that neon aesthetic, you should definitely try this one.
