Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack
Description
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition includes the unaltered original version and the Enhanced Edition in one definitive collection exclusively on GOG.com. (The original version will be automatically added to your account after purchase.) The original Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 to widespread critical acclaim. It won RPG of the Year from multiple outlets for its unconventional story, characters, and amazing soundtrack. Since then, millions of Planescape: Torment fans have enjoyed exploring the strange and dangerous city of Sigil and surrounding planes through the Nameless One's eyes.

Discover an incredibly rich story and a setting unlike anything else in fantasy. Defeat strange and alien creatures, engage in rich dialogue, and explore the dark and dangerous Planescape setting in this 50+ hour RPG classic.

This is Planescape: Torment like you’ve never seen before."What can change the nature of a man?" - You are the Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking The Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.

Portals riddle the planar metropolis of Sigil, providing access to anywhere in existence, but only if you have the proper key. Known as the "City of Doors," Sigil is a neutral ground where demons, devas, and races from across the multiverse gather under the watchful shadow of the Lady of Pain, the city's enigmatic ruler. This is a place where the word is mightier than the sword, where thought defines reality, and belief has the power to reshape worlds.

In your search for answers, you'll find companions matching the bizarre nature of the planes: a chaste succubus who can kill with a kiss, a confused crossbow-wielding cube, a suit of armor animated by a spirit demanding JUSTICE, and more. With these companions and others at The Nameless One’s side, you will explore worlds in search of answers, all to discover that some destinies cannot be escaped and some memories cost more than an even an immortal can bear.

Not a RPG by any means, not a novel.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against Beamdog; my critique is about the game itself. I own the original game and my critique is about that. Seriousy, what exactly is this... game? First of all, this is not an RPG, no matter how you stress the term. Sure, there are stats as in any RPG - except it makes no sense, since only one stat really matters and all the others are close to useless. Sure, there is combat, but it is so clunky that even fans of the game admit combat just sucks. You read a lot of text. Nothing wrong about that per se; I actually enjoyed other games involving long text reading. But in this particular game you read a lot of text just to get any useful information burried in an ocean of endless verbosity that goes on for an eternity. Some say this is a great visual novel. Well, I am sorry but it is not, unless you never read a real novel.. It starts as a hell of a text reminding necrophilia, and it keeps throwing tons of mediocre text to the player till the end. I can think of countless books in the literature which are really great novels and this sort of a game cannot stand a comparison. If I want to read a novel, I have plenty of choices, thank you very much. I don't need a long text pretending to be a video game/visual novel. So there is nothing good in this game? Well, nothing is all black nothing is all white, and this is not an exception. It does have some few moments. Some side quests have a rather interesting plot (but still ruined by the non-existant gameplay); in rare cases there is a good sense of humor too. But those good moments are few and far between, sunk at the bottom of an ocean of below-mediocrity. My advice: Do not waste a dime for this. Either pick a GoG game worth the money asked, or buy a book. The Trial by Franz Kafka is one of the many examples. Now all those admirers, go ahead and click "No" below. But I forgot, you already did that before reading what the other side has to say. As if I care, really.

PST deserves 10 stars, Beamdog stole 7

You gotta love Planescape: Torment for being the most incredible tale with such deep moments and true wisdom within. Five stars is not enough for such a masterpiece in history of gaming. It is still easily at least as worthwhile as the new Torment: Tides of Numenera. However when someone unrelated comes way later and decides he's going to earn fortune from the game fame by selling a mod so horrendously overpriced it feels like an insult you have to see the game being shamelessly abused and raped. I am not saying that the Enhanced Edition is not handled well, in fact it is polished nicely. But the way this sale restricted classic version from being bought without this mod which is sold for at least twice as much, like as if it's worth more than the classic itself... that is plain abomination which makes you wanna puke. The only excuse would be if all the earnings from sales go distributed among ALL original devs who got terribly underappreciated back in the days. On the other hand this is DRM-free release so you know you are completely free to express your appreciation by the high sum which has been set. Or don't. I definitely recommend to get it one way or another.

Crappy point-and-click wannabe

This game plays like they wanted to make a point and click adventure game but randomly decided at the last minute to add fighting to it at random points as well just to aggravate people who are invested in the story. And furthermore, it seems almost like they went out of their way to make this unnecessary fighting as shallow and non tactical as possible to make sure that neither people who like fighting games nor people who like D&D will enjoy it either.
