100% fun, 0% frustration. Pick up and play to brighten your day with a short story. This game is brilliant because it makes failing in a point and click actually fun. One of the caveats of point and clicks is when you get stumped and you have to try every item and fail. It's annoying and tiresome, yet in Pilgrims, it's funny. You pretty much can't fail because you'll get a decent reaction as a fallback. It also doesn't use any written or verbal language, so literally anyone could play it. A playthrough lasts about an hour. It has in game achievements (and galaxy) and subsequent replay value is just doing the achievements you missed on the first playthrough, assuming you want to see those unique reactions. For example, certain achievements are progression, so if you do X you can't do Y, which is why you have to play through again to do those. You can also reset the in game achievements, which means it's meant to share with friends/family that also want to play. Incredibly OST included, MP3 and FLAC. Look up Pilgrims Samsara. Guess I shouldn't be surprised to see so many complain about something so wholesome.

Ya know, I thought this was going to be a unique, quirky game that I would enjoy. The description made it sound like you could try a ton of different options and get different, surprising outcomes. This is totally untrue. Most characters you meet need one item and they just throw back any item that's not the one they want. Nothing new or exciting happens if you give different items to different characters. It's just one fetch after another. This dude wants a fish to let you pass, this dude wants a bird to give you a ride in his boat, this dude wants something to cheer himself up to then let you pass. It's so boring and basic, it actually makes me angry. All it is is a stripped down adventure game where everything is pictures instead of words. Sorry, it doesn't work. Don't waste your money thinking this is anything but a boring, pointless fetch game.

I've played all of the Amanita games available here except Botanicula and this is my least favorite. Even Chuchel I enjoyed quite a bit more than this one. It is just the Amanita wackyness (not what I like about their games) and none of the things I do like about their games. Even the music is only meh, which for me is the best part of the Samorost games and Machinarium. The art and animations are meh IMO and none of the characters interesting. Nothing about the world is interesting or magical and it just felt like a chore to get through it. This is one of those adventure games where you need to use items in strange and unexpected ways but it tries to be short and limited enough that you can try all possible permutations. A few of the animations are cute but most just annoying or violent. The UI is obviously designed for mobile devices and is slightly annoying (you can't see all of your items at once, although you easily could if it wasn't designed as a mobile game).

This is my first review on gog for a "short" game like this but i am really thrilled about this game. What a wonderful world with all its simple and friendly music and artwork. It reminds me of all the children's books i loved in my childhood. Thank you for crafting this little gem.

It's not an adventure, just a series of "character needs single item" events that lead to nothing. There are no surprising outcomes and you cannot "play" with the choices and this deception is made all the worse by hiding underneath really good art. It's nice to interact with various elements in the world but it's all surface no gameplay, no narrative, no widescreen support (seriously, your card items do not expand past the square window, lazy, lazy, lazy). Very disappointing and borderline fraudulent.
