very limited
A NO win situation. In all the games you have no chance. with Military NO COPPER so NO troops. IN some gameas short of money and NO gold bearing rock. All games work against each other. vey dissapointed with the scope for playing.

Still a fun game
While this is not the remaster many of us expected, it is still a fun game. The fact that it is easier to mod than the original also helps in modifying the experience to your liking. And yes, I did shamelesly give this five stars instead of the four it probably should have gotten to counteract those who only rate this low because it is not what they expected.

Aging gamer here so my requirements may be different. Overall, I like the game, but some things prevent me from continued play. Game is too fast paced at my advanced age. I know that building can be accomplished at pause, but when pause is turned off then (for me) it once again becomes too frantic. I quickly lose interest, I would rather take it slower. Plus: - looks ok to me - mostly not bothered by the overall graphic design of the game with a few exceptions - unbothered by how they display war Negative: - zoom in 1 or 2 notches closer would have been great - 0.5 speed is not slow enough for my gaming needs - 1 or 2 slower speed notches is what I would need - the left and right menu selections are much too small (for me) - a lower resolution selection would help

Excellent Game
I remember when Pharaoh was first released by Sierra Studios in 1999 and I enjoyed it very much and I have to say this version "A New Era" brings back so many fun and frustrating memories. This game has so much, if not all the aspects of the original and it improves on so many element at the same time that it almost feels like a new title. I enjoyed playing this and will be playing it for a long time to come.
