With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

Expect to Save and Reload frequently

I wanted to love it, I really enjoy the tabletop, but after 20+ hours of play, I have to say Pillars of Eternity was a much smoother experience. I'm not sure if it's because Pathfinder's mechanics don't translate well to simultaneous action, and yes I'm playing on challenging, or if it's just a low-level phenomenon when a Brawler crits for 30 damage and I'm still 2nd level, but the amount of reloading is ridiculous. And yes I know as a player that color spray can be overpowered, but when Valerie and Miri are both knocked down by a stupid illusionist and my cleric of Erastil and the bard are left alone to be pummeled... Oh wait, before every step on the world map, save, and reload if you get a random encounter, problem solved, right? No, this is not how I want to play a game. Tone down the random encounters, devs. And then there's the big reloads, like when I went back to day 4 from day 15 when I noticed in my journal that I'm spent to much time resting after random encounters and the trail of the bandits had gone cold. Maybe give me time counters in the journal so I know when I'm about to miss an opportunity? I'm honestly thinking of cashing in on that 30 day money-back guarantee, I can't see myself finishing this game, but I'll give it a few more days before deciding...

Great Game!

A rough release, but the development team fixed everything up. A few bugs, but all games have those. The game has an immersive story, great companions and voices, and a massive amount of choices for character progression!

Where is gone the fun???

The game start great. Hard but well...it's manageable. Then come the abberration: the dice rolls. WTF???? series of ten to twenty dice rolls on D20 below 10??? The average dice roll in this game is something below the average...to said the least. On a D20 the average rolls in this game are 2-3-4. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??? Then suddenly is 3-4 dice rolls with the maximum amount possible. in what universe does that kind of statistics exists? And it's not just some random abberation. It nearly arriving EVERY SINGLE FIGHT. That ruins every tactics you put in order as you could be sure that with one chance on two to hit (roll of ten or above) you'll get only one on four of five which will effectively hit. I've seen more often than none sometimes eight attacks missing their target even with a 5 or more to do. It manageable at first as the ennemies are not too powerful. Then came Voderkai tomb quest. And there....but it's not fun at all and not maneagable at all. Even with the lowest setting I've been torn to piece with ennemies taking for ever to destroy. Between the incapacity to hit them because of the generator of statistic abberation, the number of ennemies there and the huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount of hit points the game gave them.... it's a full nigthmare. That game had so much to be a real great game. But somewhere on the line all the magic is gone. It's just a Dark Souls like RPG with no fun in it. If you're masochist try it. Otherwise....flee

Game Breaking Bugs

In it's current iteration 1.0.3 (the game needed and still needs multiple hotfix patches first week of release) the game has many game breaking bugs. My personal reason for giving one star review is because of how the bugs have effected my gaming experience. The difficulty setting I'm playing on is hard, which lazily adds +4 to the all the base rolls of the enemies (saves, AC, attacks). That essentially makes at least all the early game battles based largely on luck, which means a ton of reloading and min/maxing. The default experience option is to share XP across all playable characters, so that they are all at the same level when joining or leaving the party, which is fine in itself. There is also an option for only currently active party members to receive experience, which is what I want, as it reminds me of Baldur's Gate and the ability to have smaller but stronger party play carried by their levels. At some point, I don't know if it was due to a patch or just getting to a certain point in the game, but my xp that I had was all normalized across my party members nullifying all the work I put in to the game. This was a huge blow to me considering the luck based difficulty I'm playing. This game needs a lot of polish; it was released too early and should still be in early access. TLDR: Game stole my solo xp and distributed to party members I don't use.

Sluggish and Boring

I don´t know whats worse, the cheesy voice acting or the sluggish movement. To put this game simple its a bad version of Neverwinter Nights 2 or Baldurs Gate. There are far superior crpgs out there than this one.
