With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

Old School RPG and Pathfinder Converge

While the release and the first couple of months were a bit erratic, it has with 1.1.1e found a functioning bit of amazement. The game is based on the Pathfinder RPG adventure path with the same name, and I really appreciated the strive to make it close to the original table top rpg. The slightly truncated rules make it enjoyable, if confusing for die-hard Pathfinder players (how do bards get magic missile?), but it's the closest we'll ever have for a 3.5 ruleset game. Think a love letter to Neverwinter Nights and Paizo.

Hard and detailed - the best cRPG

After 124 hours and 47 minutes I've finally finished Pathfinder:Kingmaker Enhanced Edition and I must say that I had fun nearly 99% of the time. In many cases the game is like old school cRPGs - hard, detailed, unforgiving, and doesn't care about the time you had invested in your playthrough. You didn't visit one exact location during the quest? Shame on you, cause now you don't have a best Treasurer advisor. You want to get every achievement just by playing once? No way. Best ending in a first try? Only if you are a future teller or stick to the really detailed guide. I admit, I ain't Sherlock Holmes, but I think that story was pretty decent and certainly was a good excuse for exploring new dungeons. Sure, sometimes mechanics are unclear, and some encounters are ridiculously difficult but these are just challenges not flaws. For every seems-like-an-impossible-to-beat enemy there are always at least a few ways to beat. It just depends how much time you can invest in it. This also changes with the style you are playing, and chosen team members. For example not using Death Ward spell will cause you a serious headaches. But I shouldn't go into details. Summarizinig: every single player game that can give me over 100 hours of good story, fun characters, and great gameplay deserves 5 stars rating.

Decent, but needs a turn based mode

Definitely a game worth picking up if you like Baldur's Gate, Torment, Icewind Dale, Pillars of Eternity, etc. However, I started to suspect this after POE2 and Pathfinder just confirmed it for me. I really just don't like Realtime with Pause gameplay. I tolerated with those games, but I usually just end up spamming my way through the combat however I can. It's just not that enjoyable to me. Fallout 1/2, Arcanum, Divinity Original Sin 2, XCom, etc are far more enjoyable for me. So, for me, this game just didn't hit the mark. That said, I really like everything else about the game. The characters seemed interesting. The camping system was great. The game itself was pretty. I enjoyed the world map. The story worked for me. That combat just drags it down for me. I don't know how much more of this game will get updated, but it would be cool to see a turn based mode get added like POE2. Don't let my dislike for RtwP disuade you from playing this though. Its a real gem!

One of the worst CRPGs I recently played

The recent version seems stable and does not have as much bugs as previous ones, but the entire concept of the game is very confusing. It's engine, mechanics, graphics are very good, but the game is just the mess. One one hand it encourages exploring new locations but on the other hand every main quest has a time limit, so you are not able to neither explore nor handle kingdom management properly. What is the point in putting kingdom management tasks (that eat up in-game time) and locations to explore (exploring eats up in-game time) when you basically can't do them and focus on the main plot line instead? Also one of the main quests "finding Armag's tomb" is so messed up (and almost impossible to fulfill - reminds me of 90's Sierra adventure games) that developers made an official statement to tell everyone it's not a bug, but a feature (just look it up). I enjoyed Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity series etc and this is the only one CRPG I don't really like.

Outstanding

Amazing game, maybe it wasn't a year ago with bugs, I don't know I just got it recently, and it's a pretty fascinating work of art. Well done, 5 stars, must buy for rpg fans.
