Description
Pacific General is the fifth installment in Strategic Simulations’ Five Star General Series and explores the Pacific front of the Second World War. Taking control of Axis or Allied forces, you must strategically battle your way through the Eastern and Western front of the Pacific war, using a wide array of land, air and naval forces. You can not only experience the historical battles of the war, such as the Battle of Midway, but can also command an Axis campaign of victory and find out what might of happened had Japanese forces triumphed in the East. The hex and turn-based gameplay improves on its predecessors by taking the battles to the high seas, allowing you the freedom to focus on land, air or naval dominance. As the last installment in the series, Pacific General improves upon the gameplay and user interface of its predecessors and perfectly captures the elements that drew players to the series. Classic and still good

I always wish they would bring us an updated version of this game, or something like it and to this day the closes thing to it is Order of Battle Pacific, this classic is a great game yes graphics ECT are dated and need Do Box to play only issue I had was the small screen in the center but after playing with settings ECT I figured out to set my Graphics card to fullscreens mode and now it works fine, this is a must buy for Panzer General fans and this is the only place I ever found this classic but over all great game and buy...

Monsoon General

The mechanics are good, except for a marginally-controllable map, and the argle-bargle "battle" sound-effect gets tiresome. But who designed the weather in this game, Noah? I guess you can shut off the rain and mud, and that might be a good idea, since it seems to there purely to slow down the game. If it rains, you can't have air combat; if it's muddy, movement is halved. I had two nice days at the beginning of the Australia scenario, then *five* of rain, and the last 3 of those with mud. So, about 3/4s of the time so far, the weather has significantly affected combat. I don't think that accurately reflects history. More like a tactically-weak AI.
