Aged very well! A true classic!
I played this game in my early teens back when it first came out and totally loved it! I do remember some levels (especially the sawmill) to be pretty annoying because of the maze-like design and the endless search for keys. But the story, simple yet told through beautifully crafted cut scenes, and of course the soundtrack really make it a game that's still very enjoyable!

Where are ya marshall?!
For me, Outlaws is the best game Lucasarts ever made. I said it. Better than Monkey Island 2, better than Indiana Jones - it's just a great game. Let's start with the very beginning of the game. I believe the intro video (where your daughter is on the swing singing "my bonnie lies over the ocean") is possibly the best intro video ever made, and just by itself is a fantastic hand drawn animated story. I'll never forget it. Next, the music. The composer, Clint (what an appropriate name) has emulated the style of Ennio Morricone. As soon as I played Outlaws recently I could instantly recall the music from all those years ago. The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant - in fact when the game came out, they had the track listings on the CD so you could listen in your CD player. Finally the game itself. I always loved doing the "historical missions" mode, where you could freely run around the little village shooting bottles, and then choose a bad guy to go after. The game is a typical FPS of the mid-late 90s when it comes to the mechanics (mouselook is the default control method, so you can freely aim around the place). The atmosphere is what makes the game so good. The soundtrack perfectly fits in the levels, the cowboys calling your name, the types of weapons (the gatling gun is so fun to find). The game revolves around trying to navigate your way through western towns/mines/forts, finding keys to open doors, until you find the main boss. There has never been another western game quite like Outlaws. Get it!

Still amazing soundtrack and fun game
even though graphics have aged a bit past my memory version but that'S almost always so. It plays and runs perfectly fine and like a normal shooter. The controls are modern fps style, which is great. You know with wasd and strafing and stuff. Would be great, if Gog could unearth the soundtrack as plain audio files.
