Description
Negotiations have failed.

There’s radio silence from the terrorists occupying the top floor of the United Nations building, a sign they’ll soon start executing ambassadors. You are a member of Elite Force, a highly trained unit meant to be called in only as a last resort. You’ve trained for this scenario, but it will take all your courage and strength to battle your way to the top floor of the skyscraper. Booby traps, ambushes, and even monsters fill the hallways, but you and your squad have the coordination and guts to face down anything. Getting to the last floor in one piece is a tall order, but there’s no stopping until those hostages are free.

Capstone Software’s classic first-person shooter built on an upgraded Wolfenstein 3D engine brings the heat with 40 levels of intense action. Struggle to the top against hordes of bad guys – it’s time to put that training to the test, soldier!
  • Lead a team of computer-controlled allies into combat, giving commands and switching to different squad members on the fly.
  • Wield a varied arsenal of deadly weapons against terrorist scum! Mow down enemies with machine guns, fight fire with fire with a flamethrower, and blow open walls with a rocket launcher.
  • Navigate each floor and find hidden secrets using a dynamic map system that tracks your location.
  • Take on a variety of different types of enemies who plan ambushes and set traps.
  • Experience the CD-ROM version of this game complete with a cinematic introduction and FMV cutscenes.

One of the Worst, seriously.

In the time of the great 90's free-for-all, where even the "largest" game dev companies only had a handful of people working for them, and they usually worked on one game for about a year, a year and a half at most, shovelware was just as crappy as it is nowadays. Only, at those times, we just accepted defeat when we had these games, since we didn't always had many more games to play, and we also just didn't really know any better. About 25 years later, when we can practically play any of the games that accumulated in the past two decades and a half, the lack of any redeeming qualities about Body Count is absolutely shocking. When it comes to games that are "Technically playable", this is near the very bottom of the pile. The notoriously hacky Capstone really outdid themselves with this one. This is an FPS with: - A way more primitve engine than that of Doom, though coming out a years after it, - Assets stolen from Doom - Difficulty, that"s not challenging just unfair, - Insane repetition, - A crazy number of sewer levels, - Braindead AI (for both your foes and allies), - Damage distribution that makes no sense, - Ugly, confusing and nonsensical level design (and design in general), - Gross graphics and seizure inducing effects, - Cryptic UI, - Boring, unrewarding gameplay, - Crap sound, - Really weak and out of place ending, - Bugs that still present after 25 years. These are just a tip of the iceberg. Pretty crazy to think how okay we were with this kind of atrocious scheming back in the days as kids. If you want to buy this, for whatever reason, buy it heavily discounted. The publisher should probably donate some of the funds coming in from old Capstone title sales to charity.

Terrible Game

There is little redeeming value for this game, except perhaps the unique storyline, background setting, and weapons. It was one of a number of FPS games that came out after Doom but could scarcely compete with Wolfenstein 3-D. I would only recommend picking it up if it were on sale for $1 or less, simply for historical novelty or curiosity.

Ignore the Haters

This game has everything and what a unique setting. The developers put a lot of effort into drawing you into the game's world and premise. Imagine you work on the 40th floor of an office but, when you arrive in the morning, the elevator is busted. What do you do? You take the stairs.

A very subjective 5 stars.

This game gets 5 stars from me, but ONLY if I'm playing it as a challenge to survive this game until the end. I have never beat this game. I have never even beat the first 10 sewer levels. That's how hard core this game is. If you are playing this game for enjoyment, not challenge, then forget about it. One star. This game apparently had one good level (with the flamethrower), and that was the Demo level. So if it's enjoyment you're looking for, seek out that Demo. It's your only hope. Seriously though, I might have had fun with this very sub-par Wolf 3D clone had they completely done away with the sewer (or basement I guess) levels at the beginning. Those levels will break you. They are too dark to see anything, the map sucks, and they go on forever. If the rest of the game is similar to the Demo level, and you can get that far, it might be okay. Maybe. If you're not at all discriminating. My final advice? Spend your money on GOG's other new arrival instead. Corridor 7 is another Wolf 3D clone, but it has a charm of its own, and can be fun.
