Description
Negotiations have failed.

There’s radio silence from the terrorists occupying the top floor of the United Nations building, a sign they’ll soon start executing ambassadors. You are a member of Elite Force, a highly trained unit meant to be called in only as a last resort. You’ve trained for this scenario, but it will take all your courage and strength to battle your way to the top floor of the skyscraper. Booby traps, ambushes, and even monsters fill the hallways, but you and your squad have the coordination and guts to face down anything. Getting to the last floor in one piece is a tall order, but there’s no stopping until those hostages are free.

Capstone Software’s classic first-person shooter built on an upgraded Wolfenstein 3D engine brings the heat with 40 levels of intense action. Struggle to the top against hordes of bad guys – it’s time to put that training to the test, soldier!
  • Lead a team of computer-controlled allies into combat, giving commands and switching to different squad members on the fly.
  • Wield a varied arsenal of deadly weapons against terrorist scum! Mow down enemies with machine guns, fight fire with fire with a flamethrower, and blow open walls with a rocket launcher.
  • Navigate each floor and find hidden secrets using a dynamic map system that tracks your location.
  • Take on a variety of different types of enemies who plan ambushes and set traps.
  • Experience the CD-ROM version of this game complete with a cinematic introduction and FMV cutscenes.

A fair review

Like everyone, I saw Civvie's video about this game but I was curious. This game has a LOT of problems, even more problems than I thought. For example, the life metter is completely broken. There's an option in the game to have an extra digital life metter on the HUD and that's how I found out that you can go beyond the max health (which is 300 IIRC) if you pick a medikit when you're between 201 and 299 HP. The medikit will give you 100 HP no matter how much HP you have. And that's just one little detail in a game full of broken little (or big) details. The levels are not interesting at all and feel like they were made at random. I mean yeah ok it's a Wolf 3D clone it's hard to make ground breaking levels but the levels in this game are so much worse compared to the ones in Wolf 3D. I have to give 2 stars though because they tried to add some new things to the game like allies, destructible walls, door you can open/close as you want... Yeah these mechanics were poorly added and most are broken but they tried. On the plus side, the music is not bad at all and it's playable if you have some time to waste and want some Wolf 3D crappy clone action. Also I have to note, 6.81$ is WAY too expensive for that game, it's barely worth 2$.

Daikatana of Wolfenstein clones

This is a bad game and fascinating piece of game development history. Along with Blake Stone (the pinnacle of the wolf3d-clones genre) it's probably most ambitious expansion of wolf3d engine with many features (breakable walls, breakable glass, light switches, multiplayer(!), NPC allies, switching control between different members of your squad). It ended up having higher requirements than DooM thanks to all bells and whistles. If you want to see what happens when someone pushes obsolete engine to its limits, this game is a must see. This said, the gameplay sucks. The game experience is long, monotonous, badly designed mess, and I'm not speaking wolf3d "looks monotonous for post-DooM audiences" but really doing the same thing over and over and over, just choked with extra features wolf 3d didn't have. The option to destroy walls is actually quite handy as it lets you skip the levels.

Capstone, the Cannon studio of games.

a terrible Wolfenstein clone, developed by the infamous Capstone. But that studio and its products has its own small place in gaming history, so you should only waste your money on it, if you are curious enough to get a small taste of their "brand". Otherwise you can buy something else for the same price from that era, that is infinitely better. #FreeCivvie

The worst game from the worst company

No other 90s developer consistently cranked out steaming piles quite like Capstone: Operation Body Count, Tek War, Corridor 7, Witchaven. Operation Body Count was their worst game. The worst of the worst. That's like being the worst LJN game for NES.

It stinks!

This game is terrible. There is no other way to say it. Bland enemies. Terrible level design, poor visuals. Its hard to believe this was made by the same people who cranked out the very good "Corridor 7" that same year(1994). Don't buy this. You've been warned!
