Description
The parrot is back from the dead bringing countless new insults for your disposal, Sir! Remember that silly game that parted lovers, destroyed families and turned friends into enemies? Here’s its successor that does even more, certainly with more style and more variety. And I have proof! This time you can spread affront to everyone in the world that has Internet access or - if you’re not the most sociable - you can sit alone and play with yourself. Nudge nudge.

So don’t let the parrot die for nothing and tell that grumpy old lady that her husband donated organs for a strange woman lying in a pond and that her sister poses nude for some dog. Then meet a retired hipster who admires pictures of a grunting sow, and a fake Russian who borrowed a dead body to put his teacup and crumpets on. It’s also the only game that lets you learn what’s The Meaning of Life, and that’s scientifically proven!
  • Loner’s Insult Tournament Mode: Battle your way through numerous unique situations and verbally assault your CPU
  • Real-Life Friends Mode: Belliger your actual friends on a couch, ottoman, or whatever else you like to rest your fanny on
  • Imaginary-Friends Mode: Verbally take down strangers from all over the world online, and bring the witty pain across any device using the game's Cross-Platform Multiplayer
  • 5 Hilarious Playable Characters: Each with their own unique voices, quirky traits and hilarious “insult bits”
  • Legendary Potty Mouthed Unlockable Heroes: Lay down some verbal carnage and unlock renowned potty mouthed special guest fighters, including Shadow Warrior's Lo Wang, with more additions to follow soon.
  • 4 Conflict Scenarios: Lay down some verbal jujitsu across 4 different testy situations and dynamic environments
  • Contentious Battle System: Employ combos, criticals, continuations and other new mechanics to outwit your argumentative opponents!

Great, especially on discount

I brought this game as it was only 20p on discount and worth every penny. It has a simple tutorial that perfectly explains the mechanics then you choose to play local multiplayer to start some wholesome fun. As a british person, this is great to get "angry" at ur friends with the most old, "victorian area" language that recreates the same type of magic on how I was talking at the end of Primary School. Only complaint I have is sometimes it can be a bit picky or frustrating when you don't have a letter or word that would of made the sentence grammarly correct. E.g: 's', 'to', 'the', 'she' etc. With that in mind: It does exactly what it says on the tin so why not give it a try.

Silly. Little. Neat.

Try once-and-never or try once-and-forever. Two players take turns on building insulting sentences out of shared list of words and phrases. And the loser: a) must give up their seat in first class train coupe, b) is guilty of murder, c) has to keep the dead parrot, d) will not get a kidney surgery. If you can accept these premises, you're in for few rounds of plain silly humor, spiced up with way too many Monty Python references (which is the right amount of Monty Python references). You'll not spend long hours on this one, but if you'll find yourself compatible, you'll return every now and then for a round or five.

micro-review

You play the game by taking turns picking words. Ideally you'll touch on a sensitive subject for your opponent or make the insults long. That's pretty much it. You can "insult your CPU" or play against other people online or hotseat. There are a few things to unlock (three characters and a "conflict scenario") but this can only be done in single player and the conditions are hidden. Rating: Elderberries. Recommendation: It can be really fun for a while but it can get pretty repetitive, and you can't deny it! http://pixelloot.com

This could have been great

The idea here is made for laugh out loud fun - an insult war. Its kind of like a rap battle without the music. Unfortunately there are many flaws in the execution: the British humor doesn't always tickle Americans' funny bones (except for Monty Python references), the dictionary of words and phrases to choose from is small and cannot be modified by the user, the scoring scheme is incomprehensible, the scenarios are repetitive, and you must endure the same long and tedious before and after discussions between the characters each time you battle. On the other hand the characters are fun, with excellent voiceovers (especially one inspired by Sean Connery). There is a bit of strategy involved when you create insults that target your opponent's unique vulnerability. The game runs smoothly on my Windows 8.1 laptop. The truth is, for all its flaws I sometimes find myself laughing even at insults I've heard before in the game. For that reason I keep it installed for when I need to kill 5 or 10 minutes. If it weren't for that use I would have given this only 2 stars. I wish a developer would take this idea and flesh it out with a huge dictionary, more scenarios, a modern user interface, the ability to add your own words and phrases (which would require excellent voice synthesis rather than prerecorded audio), and the ability to render your favorite insults to mp3 or WAV audio. That would be just tons of innocent fun, and useful for audio producers!

Excellent idea, needs more work

An excellent premise. The execution however, while funny and all, is superficial. It gets boring pretty quickly, and it's a shame because more complex game mechanics, more characters and levels, a higher quality of the game's humour and a way to make online multiplayer more attractive can at any time turn this into a big hit.
