No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

A masterpiece

This is a masterpiece. NMS has evolved so much since launch and right now it's just perfect, even surpassed the expectations. It's beautiful, engaging, deep, well designed and it's still getting free DLC sized updates that make it bigger and better each time.

Positive Growth

Played this game back at launch (2016). Couldn't really recommend it then due to it's seemingly unfinished state and game breaking bugs. Now in 2025 I returned to it just to see how much it had grown since I saw the latest update, (Voyagers), allowed for player made ships as I am not an overly big fan of pre-fabs. I have to say I would wholeheartedly recommend this game and haven't been able to stop playing it since my return 6 days ago. There is so much to do that I never get bored and often find myself distracted from the main missions way more often than I would care to admit. Now, having said that, there are still a few bugs I noticed that I am willing to endure for the sake of having fun. I have fallen through floors simply walking around in my freighter and twice when teleporting to a station, (fell through the station and got stuck under the floor). I also noticed that some missions will not complete/advance unless you have them as the active mission when you complete objectives. As an example I was asked to destroy a few Sentinels by the Armorer at my base, but I also had picked up two missions from the mission agent at the local station to kill Sentinels. Only the two missions I picked up from the mission agent progressed but I had to find random Sentinels, and have the Armorers mission selected, in order to advance it rather than just giving credit for the kills like the other two missions. (and no, there wasn't a specific location I had to from the Armorer, only one of the mission agents had a location so I went there and while destroying the target I had racked up enough lesser Sentinel destruction to earn completion credit for the other mission). But those are minor for me considering the depth and scope of the game.

6 hours in. So far so good.

I've experienced no game-breaking bugs so far. Explored 3 planets within my starter system. UI could be better, but nothing I can't handle. Feels good using a game controller. My son and I enjoy naming the interesting fauna. My internal motivation is a galactic search for giant dinosaurs. Graphics settings at 1920x1080, High, Vsync On, FOV 85, Framerate 60. Specs are i5-4560, Radeon R9 280, 8gb RAM. I recommend this game for those of you who wanted to explore Elite (but got tired of the flight-sim complexity and combat-focus), wanted to love the X Series (but got tired of trying to run a Corporation), and wanted to love Spore (but hated the city-building). "Name it 'Spike Back Alligator Face' Dad!" 4/5 would buy again.

Amazing, but not what was advertised.

Static planets, static freighter ships, dumbed-down periodic table, repetitive resource generation, glitches in combat causing combat music to maintain until you enter or leave atmosphere, each system being a giant skybox with stars and a sun painted on, as well as a few typos are what I've noticed from this unfinished title. But, I still love it. Farming resources with a seriously upgraded multitool is a ton of fun, and I've been focused on hunting down Knowledge Stones and Monoliths so I can learn as many words as I can early on. I've saved lives, overcome hallucinations, destroyed pirate ships, and tunneled through the crust of a planet in which the atmosphere was too harsh to stay alive - only to find a giant underground cave network, to which I had to create my own exit. The color palettes are wide and varied, and every system I jump to I see different ships and animals. It does get a little old, now with 47 hours on my steam account. But I'm confident hello games will fix the performance issues [of which I have little of while running the 3xperimental patch and tweaked configuration settings], and begin fleshing out their universe properly. May not be best to buy right now, but it isn't nearly as bad as people are screaming.

Do not use the pre-order ship

"All the new content, give it a try!", I thought to myself. So I started a new game. The game still looks pretty, the user interface is still a mess for PC gamers. Following the tutorial for a while I remembered that I have the pre-order ship. Looking inside the options menu I found a way to redeem it, but after "Buying" the new ship, my old one disappeared and in the inventory it showed my ship to be out of range and having 4 stats called "Placeholder". "Maybe I can recall it using a console in a base, just need to find one and some navigational data". Two hours later, I excitedly press "E" to call my ship aaaaand ... nothing. The animation plays, but nothing happens. I am well aware that this certainly doesn't affect everyone, but I am not ready to spend more time on this game and to restart anew when my first impression is that this is still the buggy mess it started out as. A quick google search led me to a reddit thread called "No Man's Sky: Beyond | Bug Report Megathread" with 4,4k comments as of now (29th of August). TL;DR: game is too buggy still, would not recommend.
