Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).
And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.
Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).
An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Bad controls
I have sunk hours into this game... some how. but through that time I have become more and more frustraighted with the controls. everything feature wise about this game is grea, it looks great, it functions better with every update. But none of that matters when the controls are broken and ABSOLUTE garbage. on foot is fine, but spaceship and exocraft controls are fundamentaly broken. Two of the things that basicaly define. The spaceship lacs adrag function on locked controls meaning that it will drift in an endless spin, what realy makes this a problem though is that sometimes on a fresh load it doesnt do this. as for the exocraft, the minitar, wich is a mech, has throttle controls despite being bi-pedal, what kind of mech cant strafe? even the tank in saints frow three is capable of this basic function and its on tracks. I wish i could play this game because it realy is fun, but the way the controls are implemented has no regard for usability or the amazing control potential a PC has for input. I personaly feel disrespected and just wish they would fix these isuess. I wish I could get my money back.

testing: is ownership of the game needed
the is a test review to see if ownership is required to write reviews. I do not own the game on gog or at all, and as such shouldn't be able to post a review. People are claiming poor performance with the Steam version but some say the GOG version has no such issues. If reviews can not be verified purchases, then there is no way to know if the GOG reviews of No Man's Sky are legit

Dumb game trying to be "smart"
Slow gameplay, bugs, shiny graphics, hard to get void egg, lot's of useless items only to sell for "money" "Install warp-drive from the pocket" type, inadequate inventory filling = coil spring takes same space as 2000 tonns of frigate fuel, Warp, take photo, "peow-peow", throw some meat (mordite) at observatory terminal to repair it... and that sounds better than it plays... Engine upgrade takes same inventory space as the engine itself... Farming = wait 12hrs for bubble of resource to spawn on a flower... "Randomly generated" armadillo with a beaver tail... Two stars because I've bought it on discount... And played embarrassingly long enough before realising that void egg is not worth it... If Andromeda is wannabe 4X exploration with plot, this is wanna-be Andromeda...
