Description
At the dawn of the 22nd century the conquest of space and the colonization of the solar system has been taken over by several huge and ambitious megacorporations. Although extremely delicate and vulnerable, a balance is maintained by these companies. It has now been 60 years since the terrible catastrophe that befell Noah's Ark, the first colony ship of mankind.

On the very edge of the solar system the companies make a discovery which will shift the technological advantage and upset the balance. And so a new conflict is born: "The Jupiter Incident". You are Marcus Cromwell, a young but already famous captain. With your legendary spaceship Stiletto you find yourself in the middle of the conflict.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is one of the few examples of a TFS: a Tactical Fleet Simulator. The strong, elaborate story takes you from mission to mission and allows different approaches. It’s up to you which tactics you choose to bring each mission to a successful conclusion, although you can lose a battle and still go on to keep fighting in the war. A reward system enables you to repair, upgrade and enhance your ships depending on the approach you chose. Mission briefings let you roam through an unbelievably accurate 3D animated star map system.

Are you up to the challenge of saving a galaxy?

Unbalanced and badly designed

The game is unbalanced is heck. You shoot on the enemy, nothing happens. The enemy shoots your ships, you suddenly hear "shilds are down" and the alarm of critical hull appears. In the tutorial you getting only lessons how to use your ships with the automated orders (F1-F10), which are very bad. Only help outside of the game tells you, that the you should use the "submenu", which is not only just an overview. No, it is the manual control of the ships.

AWESOME Game

I have it on steam , Id buy it again on GoG, Great game, well worth it and the extra's make it even better. Ship to ship combat is entertaining and has a very cinematic feel

Nowadays just a singleplayer campaign

Still have the box with manual and discs for this. It dropped in price within months of release like MOO3 did and I picked it up for $10 nearly 10 years ago, so I don't know how GOG gets off on $10 for a digital copy of this game now. Regardless, it's a high quality game. What brings the score down is lack of online and the fact that you can go through hard missions with torpedo spam. Torpedoes run out of ammo yeah, but by then 1 of your ships will have wiped 3 or 4 of the enemy ships. A whole fleet decked with a few torpedoes can really hurt. This was spammed online obviously. But online was fantastic if you found a server where everyone agreed to no torps. Sadly online is non-existent anymore, so this game is just a single-player husk of the short glory it had online. 3 stars for GOG not being able to give us the best part of the game.
