Fine, Just Fine.
What a great way to replay than a remake. as fun as the game is i get so much more using the toolkit and making my own mods/areas. Highly recommend for rpg players, d&d players and so much more.

Works on Linux!
Finally Neverwinter Nights works on linux without problems... except one: the memory leak. You can play the game but every time you transition to another area the memory won't be reclaimed. After two hours of game play you may be forced to restart your computer, depending on how much memory you have. Restarting the game won't free the memory and if you continue playing when full, the computer will freeze or run very slowly trying to use swap instead or RAM. You can quickly reproduce this entering and leaving a big area over and over again. You should take a break every couple of hours anyway.

Works awesome on MacBookAir with chip M1
The game is just awesome. The great adventure of its time is back. I read people complaining about the graphics, but there is a HD texture pack included with your purchase. So it is really an ENHANCED EDITION. People worried about compatibility with M1 chip, don't worry, works perfect. Maybe a few shadow glitches here and there, but nothing to worry about. 60fps with no problem. It doesn't say on the description, but once you purchase de the game, there are 2 downloads, the one with the game and a HD TEXTURE pack. You need to copy the files inside the HD download folder, to the folder with the same name in the game. Important to copy them, not to replace de hole folder or you will lose some archives. You will also have access to the diamond version of the game (Windows only) with your purchase.

Not Very Engaging
I've been playing through a number of the D&D titles available on this site, and this one is probably the least engaging. It feels like an offline version of a former MMORPG. It bears a number of similarities to Dungeons and Dragons Online (although Neverwinter Nights has superior graphics). One thing I don't like about it is that I can only take one "henchman" (called "hireling" in DDO) at a time, meaning I can't form a real party. There seems to be no logical reason for this other than that's just the way the game is programmed. So I have to choose between having a fighter, a thief (for traps and lock licking), or a wizard. Additionally, I can't access the henchmen's inventory, so I can't change their gear, even if to upgrade it or have them learn new spells.

I don't know what people have against Beamdog and 'double dipping'. What do I know. Although beloved, NWN Diamond edition was dated. There were issues for Windows 10. Occasional crashes, terrible UI scaling for the 2010's. Very dated and esoteric settings that would cause crashes if used. And... it's just the same, no extras come out of the box. No extra modules beyond the ones that came with Diamond. But what is improved? Well... I don't need to mess around with compatibility options to get it to boot. I no longer have to wonder if Gog Galaxy is going to track my progress. I no longer have to wonder if the game will crash if I tab out. The multiplayer system works and is now very robust. The Enhanced edition has done everything it set out to do. Sure, there were free fixes for Diamond. But this is what the game deserves. If you have Diamond edition, and don't think you need to buy this version. Don't! Great. Brilliant! Alot of people in the reviews here act like all the work Beamdog have done should have been free? What? As for the actual game. It is a bit of a slow burner initially. But if you like real-time round-based D&D 3.5E combat games, this is a sure king! There are some cool reoccuring characters through the main story and original expansions. But a major part of my advocacy for this game as a whole is nostalgia, the greatest drug of all. Loads of other campagins come with the Diamond edition, and the online community, which endures even today, has made a mind boggling catalog of new adventures and expiriences. If you don't own NWN already, then you're obviously going to buy this edition. But don't let that rating up there fool you. This game is great. Shadow Dancer is OP.
