I bot this when if first came out - years ago. In a box - for my PC. It's a great game and it worked fine. Then .... later I bot it on Steam. And it Crashes. It crashes so often that it's unplayable. Soooo ... I figured it here and it probalby work on GOG. Wrong. It crashes here too. I'm not the only one who has discovered this problem - check the net. Worse yet, this has been going on a long time and has not been fixed. Every time I come back it does the same thing - and I've played it on two different computers. Either they don't know how to fix it ??? or what ?? But I can't play it. I hope you don't find the same thing.

So far I have had a great time playing this game. If you are into dungeons and dragons or really any kind of roleplaying game where you make your own character the way you want to you'll probably really enjoy this game. The game feels very much like pillars of eternity, probably because its the same developer, so if you enjoyed that game you should be able to get right into this one. Be forewarned though, RNJesus is not kind in this game. Expect a game that plays similar to XCOM or the old Fallout games. Still great though.

I've played three out of four of the campaigns in this title. The first one is well balanced between plot and combat, the others are less balanced. "Sword of Zehir" is mainly about raising money with the trading company and killing time with poorly designed quests, and the story of "Mask of the Betrayer" suffers from giving too much powers to the playing characters and turns the game from "Dungeons & Dragons" to "Magic & Magic", like in the old marvelous days of the book game in the 80's. Anyway, I enjoyed myself very much. Having bought it at -75% of its price, it's worth the money for sure.

I loved the first neverwinter nights in every way, this game made some well needed changes to how it handles summons and companions, aswell as armor and weapon crafting being easy and limited early game which makes it super rewarding if you use your limited resources correctly to make strong gear. I disliked how it changed how to interact with the world and a noticable lack of lootable containers such as barrels or chests. The combat seemed to have taken a hit too and feels abit more rough but its still fun. my most disliked change has to be with the classes and leveling as the max level for the main story is 20 while in the first game it was 40 which is very limiting until you get into the other stories that raise your level cap.

My entire experience with this game was never fun, just endless problem solving. It was difficult to get the camera & mouse settings right, and difficult to get the player & companion A.I. settings right. But as a D&D and RPG fan (Baldurs Gate & Icewind Dale, etc), I really wanted the Neverwinter Nights experience, so I got all the settings set as best as I could, and kept playing this game anyway. But the bug that eventually got me to Ragequit was the random camera flipping. After moving a character, the camera direction violently jerks 90 degrees in a random direction. I spent a couple days searching and reading old pages for a solution, and the only suggestion that had any effect was using a program called the Client Extender. But what that did was change the 90 degree camera flipping, into TWO smaller random camera flips. Now it either flips a small distance in one direction, or sometimes randomly flips back and forth two ways. So this was not solution. There isn't any solution except to uninstall this disaster and try a different game.
