Welcome back to Neverwinter!

Bards sing tales of heroes in ages past, but they rarely mention those that are yet to become heroes. One such hero is a farmer in the small village of West Harbor. Raised by the elven ranger, Daeghun, as his own child, our hero will embark on a grandiose quest against the King of Shadows. Neverwinter Nights 2 is the tale of his deeds. His adventures continue in Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. Our protagonist discovers that an ominous spell has fallen on him. A curse of perpetual hunger--one which can only be quelled by consuming the souls of spirits. In order to remove the curse, he has to travel to the Shadow Realm, which harbors dark secrets and tormented souls.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir gives as a breather from grand quests of destiny and epic ordeals. You simply assemble a group of four adventurers (either by carefully picking out each of their statistics and skills or by randomly re-rolling your characters until you find the ones that suit you) and go where the wind takes you. Just make sure to get a good look at the map as you will need it to explore the wide open region of Samarach and the Sword Coast. Then, yet another adventure: in an ancient and forgotten tomb you found an unusual mask. It made you quite powerful but changed your life into a living nightmare. Strange, terrifying visions torment your psyche. Every time you try to get rid of the accursed mask, it secretly makes its way back to you. There's just one solution: set sail for Westgate and discover the secret of the Night Masks in Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete is an epic RPG set in the fantasy world of the Forgotten Realms, one of the most popular campaign settings of Dungeons & Dragons. Use all the wicked spells, feats, and prestige classes from the D&D 3.5 rules. Create your characters any way you wish, choosing from a wide variety of races and subraces, such as Tiefling and Aasimar. As if the pre-made campaigns weren't enough, you can take the reins and use the powerful Obsidian Neverwinter Nights 2 Toolset to make your own adventures and share them with friends!

  • Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete includes the original game, and three expansions: Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, and Mysteries of Westgate.
  • Create and host your own solo and multiplayer D&D adventures using the improved Neverwinter Nights 2 Toolset.
  • Rediscover many familiar locations and reunite with your companions from the Neverwinter Nights series.
  • More than 100 hours of immersive adventure across four campaigns, all rendered in breathtaking detail.

The most complete RPG ever made

With Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, you get: - The 60 hour original campaign, a rather lighthearted yet at times dark story with an ample amount of role-playing. - A 30 hour direct expansion, Mask of the Betrayer; Obsidian's finest work, spiritual successor to and the next best thing after Planescape: Torment. Continuing directly after NWN 2, this dark fantasy story driven masterpiece lets you play as an epic level badass (levels 17-30) doing things that you can't do in any other game. - A 30-40 sandbox expansion, Storm of Zehir. Criminally underrated; it is not story driven, but is the best create-your-own-party RPG I have ever played by a long shot. Party dialogue system, overhand map incorporating so many skills, wildly fun. - Mysteries of Westgate, 20 hours of dark fantasy role-playing and intrigue in another unique setting. On top of this, there are countless custom modules/campaigns around. Hundreds of hours of content at least, thousands if you get invested in a Persistent World server (and yes some still live). 12 races with even more subraces (some of which might as well be separate races entirely, namely the Planetouched ones), 15 base classes, 24 prestige classes, 8 spell schools, hundreds of spells, hundreds of feats, 27 skills with only one having questionable value, 40 weapon TYPES, 25 status effects, the most in-depth character creation ever. In so many ways it is unrivaled and the best, most complete role-playing video game. Although it uses an older build of NWN 1's engine, it is far less clunky, has a far better UI, and is universally improved in almost every way. It also uses the improved D&D 3.5 ruleset. The campaigns all have far more role-playing than any of NWN's, and no longer are you restricted to one "henchman." Multiplayer is so unrestricted, every campaign being playable and all of it 100% moddable. DM functionality available. This game has it all.

NWN2 The good, the bad and the okay

NWN2 is like three separate games in one. That range from one of the best RPG stories to just plain bad. NWN2 standard campaign was okay, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great, it was a buggy mess and yet there was quality and decent production values. The climax was a bit of a surprise but felt fitting. The sequel expansion Mask of the betrayer is one of the best RPG stories i have ever played. The storytelling here is masterful the voice acting wonderful. Too bad it was resulted in a dramatic about face by obsidian. The second expansion Storm of Zehir was a huge step back. They had abandoned the cinematic camera angles during dialogues, removed voice acting and abandoned the story arc of the core game and first expansion. The story of Zehir was boring as hell. The exploration encounter system was broken and tedious. It felt like this was the moment obsidian went from a AAA game developer to a minor development studio. I can't stress enough just how incredible the mask of the betrayer is, that expansion is worth the purchase price of the game, alone. I can't help to wonder what the reception of NWN2 would have been had MOTB had been the main campaign story. If you like Bioware storytelling ala Kotor to dragonage to Mass effect then you will see that in MotB.

Not complete but still a RPG Jewel

While complete in the sense of including all elments, add-ons etc. it is NOT complete in the sense of everything works perfect. Still a few bugs exist, even if there are little fan made mini-mods which could have been used to make it really complete. So it is only a complete collection of not so complete games.

It's OK but not great

+ Improved visuals + Customizable panels + Modifications from nexusmods. Personally, I recommend WQHD DivineTchos GUI and MetaPrepa for a better experience. - Highlight everything doesn't show NPC's names as it was in NWN - Examine is absolutely useless since you can't see buffs/debuffs and it provides you with a mere description - AI is not too bright when it comes to casting spells, and it might be tedious to micromanage each and every party member. - Follow mode (hold right click on a portrait) is mandatory, otherwise companions might stop moving. Disable Peaceful follow on the behavior tab. NWN 2 OC: + They show at least some of your decisions in the end, but it would be way better if they added another 10 slides to uncover what happened to other characters. + You have two routes (Good/Evil) to finish the game. - The story feels very bland and uninspired - A lot of unnecessary backtracking - At least one area where you can get softlocked due to broken scripts. You might need this at the end of the siedge: DebugMode 1 rs 3541_death_nwalker DebugMode 0 NWN 2 MotB: + Companions are more fleshed out and the story is more compelling. If you're looking for a decent narrative you won'be disappointed. - Adding a timer was a horrible idea. I disabled it to avoid getting softlocked DebugMode 1 rs ka_se_terminate DebugMode 0 - Also if you don't care much about balanced combat but you want to get all possible interactions with companions DebugMode 1 rs_ga_Party_Limit(x) DebugMode 0 NWN 2 Storm of Zephir: I didn't finish it, because the premise wasn't great and this module is more focused on gameplay than story. NWN 2 Mysteries of Westgate: + Music - Poorly written and balanced from start to finish. - It's prefarable to play a mage and be good/neutral, the narrative doesn't work for evil characters - Same results for all quests. o final slides. - A paywall to continue the main campaign! It's easy to get softlocked if you don't know it.

Online D&D SAY WUT?

With enough time and dedication, you can use the included tools to make your own campaign for others to play in. That fact alone makes this and its predisessor worth the buy.
