The graphics and music are fine, but I struggle to call it a "game." Essentially it forces you to grind levels over and over to earn credits with which you can unlock...more grinding. I got for about $1 and wouldn't recommend it at that price.
As other reviews has pointed out, this is NOT a rythm game.
Nothing syncs up with the music and you are not collecting beats, as even the point-nodes themselves doesen't have any rythmic pattern to them, aside from not being synced to music.
I was fooled by reviews saying this was an aesthetically pleasing relaxing experience, which more than plenty made up for the lack of rythmic experience.
Could not be further from the truth.
The levels are extremly dull and un-inspired. Just the same few vetor renders repeated over and over again until the music ends. It's not impressive looking or aesthetically pleasing at all.
The music, which should've been the redeeming factor, is bland and boring. Calling it music is an insult to musicians and producers everywhere. It's basicly a few bar looped for a few minutes, until they figured it lasted long enough to be considered a full track.
The game runs terrible on high settings, despite being well above the recommended specs.
If I'm being very nice and forgiving, I would call it a cash-grap, cashing in on a synthwave / retrowave trend.
If I'm being more thruthful, I will call it a straight up SCAM!
Was debating with myself if I should really refund a game I bought on sale for the price of half a cup of coffee, but the gamepage actually promises a rythm game, which it is not.
So however petty it feels, I'm gonna ask for a refund.
It sort of tries to be Guitar Hero with cars, except there's no dynamic music or beat based block creation.
Instead you just collect blocks worth 10 $ each. You can get more tracks, first one at 10,000 $, and more cars...but it's tedious, tedious grinding with the same track, same car and same song before that.
Tried Synthwave Burnout before this – same group behind it, a complete non-game, this one is better than that. But not by much.
Avoid unless you get it for really cheap (sub 1 €/$).
