I love gameplay, deck management and character development, but there is one bug I cannot overlook. Game does not unlock other emotions for Jupiter so I can basically play only 4/6 of scenarios. There are other, mostly cosmetic bugs.
I hope in future other characters and phobias will be added since I see a lot of potential in this game.
As someone who likes challenge I like that you can unlock further difficulties (aka resilience levels).
It feels very unfinished and too short. Only two characters, and one unlockable. Not to mention, only female characters... Would have been a better choice to have either more characters with different issues to work through, or at the very least one female and one male, as both not only have fears and phobias, some are the same and some are very different, and so are choices where one choice can produce a very different outcome depending on male or female.
Played through half a dozen times, still haven't gotten past 18 with the first character, and it IS addicting...
HOWEVER, it still looks and feels more like a Beta or Demo with its limitations.
I'm rating it four stars only because of the concept, and the addictive frustration every time you fail ...and I don't think everyone is giving the game a fair shake. It SHOULD be a Three Star game as it stands, and if the developers ever decide to polish it up, and add more to it, especially as there are many more fears, phobias, and psychoses to explore, as well as at least one entire gender they seem to have forgotten about...then the game will get a better review and rating. But the game doesn't deserve all the one star ratings, so hopefully this four star helps, and encourages the developers to revisit it and add more content and playability.
As far as I got it on a Giveaway, I think I got more than I paid for...is it actually worth more after the giveaway?
Not really...not as it is. I'd pay a couple bucks for it, as is. With more content, development, and playability, I would definitely be happy to pay more .
Trust me, get this on the giveaway or a high discount!
I don't like this type "one use" game, it has no story and required 1 and 1 over again.
4 star for encourage that the mechanism of game is correct, easy and interesting. Playable and achievementful.
Still a dry game. but I got from a giveaway, so.. yay.
not a fan of roguelites, but this one was interesting, at least all the buffs and cards you get can be useful, so no nasty surprises apart from getting a non optimal hand, it can get pretty tough, specially with the modifiers after beating a run, unforytunately it has little on the way of story, and it gets repetitive, but it has a solid foundation.
Core gameplay is an OK bit of fun, and easy to learn. Solid, but nothing exceptional.
Visually, it's easy enough to parse and understand; again, nothing exceptional.
Sounds and music are quite pleasant to listen to, if nothing exceptional.
I got it on a give-away, and I was kinda entertained for a while, until I saw I had grind for unlocks; I don't like grinding in games, so I uninstalled it at that point.
It's not actively bad, just... bland. Purchased at any price above free, you're bound to be disappointed by this game. If you can get it for free, well, there might be an hour or two of entertainment to be had - besides, what do you have to lose?
