3d Dungeon Manager; humorous

This a 3d, free-camera, light-hearted, humorous Dungeon Manager. Its jokes are modern, non-controversial, non-political, and good for people who like office humor semi-focused on people with toxic personalities. Overall it plays like a small studio game, and it has a really good price for what it is, this doesn't make you feel like you just pissed away $60 for a crappy console game, but it isn't Dungeons 3 with all the DLC bought on sale either. The game plays like Theme Hospital plus Dungeons 3 more-so than Dungeon Keeper 2. The voice acting is definitely not on par with most games in this genre, it feels like it is out of the 90's tacked on CD voice era, but so is the price so I am not complaining at all. The music is good, repetitive, but still really good. The art on the other hand is actually REALLY good, I was surprised, like a lot. Everything looks great, and stuff does more in this game than in War for the Overworld. People take showers, or Orc don't take showers, stuff moves, or spins around, things are interacted with, it feels like a living dungeon and the stuff you add seems to actually be used. Primary Issue ------------- My only issue is optimization of game code, which I assume is still a work in progress. I have graphics set to minimum, but my computer is running like a top-fuel dragster. Graphics on maximum-or-minimum make no difference, my computer is running hot, and it seems to crash a bit when it plays for too long and gets too hot. Literally I have just the title screen up right now, with nothing else going set to minimum graphics, and it is even set to borderless window and my CPU is at 89 degrees. Total Warhammer 3 set to one tick below max graphics didn't even make my computer blink, yet this one is making it meltdown. I can run FAR more taxing software without my PC sounding like a jet engine, or shutting down it hits 100+ degrees. Hopefully I will remember to update my review later with more info, this game just came out.

Disappointing on many levels

Cons: - missing depth, playing for cosmetic items instead of new possibilties to play the game/optimize your playstyle - partly unbalanced, e.g. some minions have maxed out level in a couple of weeks, hardly ever level up - redundant (or even obsolete) mechanics, e.g. production, which comes with slight bonuses or gold, you need neither - stupid mechanics, e.g. creating a bottleneck due to the "payday"-mechanic - mechanics don't build up on one another, they only coexist - often missing crucial information regarding your minions - no reasearch, progress is solely reputation-based, no feeling of exploration - no challenge, enemies are weak, minions are easily replaceable - too many different minions, there is no progress or need for training. Every job needs exact one specific minion, if they level up they just do their jobs slightly better and cost more gold - raids (world map) are literally just text-based rewards with a probility to fail and no noteworthy loot - rudimentary amount of animations (srly...thats half of the fun in games like this: watching your minions do things in a stupid way) - rudimentary amount of traps (thats the other half of the fun) Feels more like a mobile game for time-wasting. Pros: - Funny, sometimes even hilarious - looks nice - the idea is great - lots of potential It's actually 2,5 out of 5 stars, rounded down to 2 stars. If you're looking for a decent (Dungeon) Management Game, rather go for Fallout Shelter, Evil Genius 1 (even 2 is better and this was...ugh), Dungeon Keeper, Dungeons (all 3 are at least mediocre and better than this) or as an Indie-Alternative Shelter 1&2. If you want to have them all and don't mind repetitive gameplay, go for it in sale. I love the idea, I love the setting, but I was deeply disappointed by the lack of progress.

Frustrating and generally terrible logic

While the game has some humor, it is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Technically, the "alarm" trap should summon all the guards to the area...technically. In actuality, it is entirely possible that only one guard shows up to fight while in the training room that is literally right next to the intruders there are 5+ guards just training away. Oh and your specialists...spies, necromancers, etc will show as often if not more often than the guards and since they are solo they die quickly. Then after a while, one or 2 more guards will trickle into the fight (and probably die). I'm literally trying to come up with things to make my guards start at a higher level since they are so dumb and die so much. Then you have npc behavior outside of combat. Orcs and goblins like being filthy. They complain about being too clean! Then they will ignore the washtub specifically designed to make them happy to use the shower that makes them clean and unhappy. I have NEVER seen those washtubs used even once if there is a shower ANYWHERE. And finally...this is supposed to be a tower. When incursions happen, the invaders can start at ANY LEVEL. So an attack on a room on the first floor can start with invaders coming in on the FOURTH floor. Does that make any sense? I honestly don't know how people could rate this as over a 4...

Game is good, AI pathing is bad

The game is pretty good so far. However, the AI pathing and what minions complain about is somewhat of a riddle.
