A: If your machine does not meet the minimum requirements and you still want to try Myst out, we recommend enabling one of our supersampling options through the graphics settings menu to see if it alleviates performance concerns. The classic is back
I still remember being in total awe when I saw the original Myst back in 1994, running on a 486 machine with a CD-ROM drive. Well, this classic game is back, looking better than ever. It runs great on my M1 Macbook Air. The reworked user interface works great too. Recommended.

Just a special game

This game was the highest selling PC game of the 90s and reinvented the point and click adventure genre. But has it Aged gracefully or is it a relic? And can I respect a game's greatness even if I often struggle to enjoy actually playing?

macOS Controller support mostly broken
The game claims to have controller support, and the macOS version has game controller settings in the menus. But my Steelseries Nimbus, an Apple-supported MFi controller, barely works. Most buttons don't work at all. Only looking up, down, left, right, and walking via analog sticks work. And walking is inverted so pushing forward walks backward & vice versa. This is pretty disappointing, and controller support should be removed from the macOS version until it can be implemented properly.

Magic....
I played Myst for the first time in 1998. Loved it then and was not disappointed this time either. It still has that magic touch that Cyan games always have! (Played VR version) Warning for some bugs.

You can't finish
Do not waste your money. Oh it looks amazing, and if it worked, I'd be happy as could be. But you can't finish the game. When you try to do to D'ni, to meet Atrus, the game freezes, and quits. Sometimes it even forces a restart of my computer. I got all the way to the end, for this? No. If you're going to release a game that people love, and would spend money on, release a game that works!
