It's a medieval combat simulator with rpg elements and a huge sandbox world to interact with. The plot is what you make of it as every time you play it something completely different unfolds. This game has taken up more of my time than any other game I have played, and once you play it, you'll understand.
P.S. Swadian Knight charge is a very safe strategy.
The greatest asset of this game is the ease with which it supports mods. Instead of one game, you get dozens. Ancient Rome, the American Civil War, Medieval Europe, Middle Earth, Arthurian Britannia, historical realism or fantasy, it's all there.
The open world sandbox nature is also a huge plus. Want to work your way up through the ranks, earning the respect of your liege? Want to forge your own kingdom out of the ashes of the existing order? Want to be a highwayman/woman? A merchant trader? All are possible. The game is what you make of it.
I've heard a lot of positive criticism towards this game and I had to try it out.
POSITIVE:
Best thing about the game is that it is an actual sandbox game! You can go anywhere, do anything and become whoever you want to be! You can be a hired blade, a merchant or join the pursuit of becoming a noble/king... the choice is really up to you.
Second positive side of M&B Warband is: fighting mechanics.
I don't know if it's more fun to slash people while riding a horse, slash people while running with your shield up or just simply commanding your forces from behind and watching them slaughter your enemies. The choice, once again, is up to you.
One of the biggest positive sides of M&B Warband is: it's MODDABLE!!!
NEGATIVE:
There aren't many negative sides of this game, except maybe bugs.
When you raise the number of units in combat, they usually get stuck, especially in sieges. But, even in open fields sometimes they run into rocks, trees, etc...
One thing I also didn't like is the cities/villages/castles, etc... They should have added more life into it, maybe there are some mods for it, but as default, there are always just a few people and not many details and object, so it kind of ruins the immersion.
CONCLUSION:
To conclude, when you consider every aspect of this game, I think it is one of the best games I have EVER played and it will keep you sitting in front of your computer for hours, if not for days!
U should play this!!!.
The only problem i have with this game, is that it doesnt have a great gamepad support, u can play it with controller but the controls are hard! :((
Overall this game is a masterpiece, it can be difficult or hard to understand at the start,, but im sure you will enjoy this game.
the multiplayer is very alive and you can find big servers with 32+ players each.
As a game there is surprisingly little to do. Earn money, buy and train soldiers, then send them to die in war. The grind is pretty bad. Combat is nice but cavalry is a bit too powerful. It's a bit of a tech demo rather than a game in the sense that anything besides combat is not polished at all and it seems rushed. They should've gone all in on the combat and disregard the weak outer shell to it. It does run on damn anything, I had a laptop with 1GB of RAM left and 2GB of space and it ran really well.
