Grind and jank aside, there is nothing else like a Mount and Blade game, and Bannerlord is undisputably the best one yet. Its uniqueness alone makes it worth playing. To talk about it that way is to do it a disservice though; the true marvel of Bannerlord is that it actually delivers on what is an astonishingly ambitious concept. The two halves of the game complement each other perfectly. It may be on a slow boil, but once it gets up a head of steam, you won't be able to put it down.

My return to Calradia wasn't entirely jubilant, though Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord is a game I'll likely stick with, simply due to my love of the original. A wealth of new systems and activities help this sandbox strategy sim feel more alive than ever, though the busywork required to get anywhere can feel like a grind. Overall, existing fans will rejoice while newcomers may look on unimpressed, unsure what all the fuss is about.

OK game
The game updated the graphics and added significant improvements compared to Mount & Blade. But that is where it ends. The caladaria story is old and totally uninteresting. All the hours I spent on Mount & Blade where because the myriad of mods available. Some where better than the original game. Banner has limitted mods and currently only 4 total conversions. There isn't much to play. They really need to put out a playable DLC that isn't caladaria.

Bugged Tutorial
Tried the game. Tutorial was bugged. Started a free roam game. Can't even run down villagers on my horse. If the devs can't even bother to ensure the tutorial works properly, I am not bothering with their game. From the reviews I was expecting a lot more from this.

Worthy Successor to Warband
I have about 30 hours in this game on Steam, and just bought a GOG copy as well. This game is worth the price. I put a lot of hours into Warband and it's DLC and this game improves on them in nearly every way possible. Even early access, almost of the flaws with warband have been improved in Bannerlord. I highly recommend it, even while in development.

Unplayable
It crashes for me every 15 minutes or so. So you end up doing the same thing over and over again, depending when you last saved it. Sometimes, it crashes at the end of a battle so you don't even get the chance to save during the battle. The game itself would be fun, but it simply is not playable in its current form. I was waiting for the bugs to be worked on before buying, and given the price now and that it's been over two years on release I assumed it would now be ok. Unfortunately, it simply doesn't work. The in-game general bugs i can handle, but not the constant crashing. It would be a fun game, so I hope they can fix it.
