This game needs a massive amount of work

Compared to Mount and blade warband this game doesn't deserve 4 or even 5 stars. This game needs so much work. 1) Khuzait are just snowballing everything. I have tried 6 different games starting from the begining and about the 50th to 60th day in they just stream roll the North and southern empire and then the Sturgia 2) lack of ways to gain relationships with any one. But yet be 200 ways to lose relationship points. Hell i released a lord and they went -45. But join a lord in a battle and i get jack shit. Where is the rescuse lord from prison, train troops for lord, or what ever. 3) bandit galore, hell far every where i look there is bandits just everywhere, warband was bad for bandits but holy shit, its like someone sprinkled bandits everywhere and said "ehhhh tHeY LikE bAnDiTs" 4) gear is just shitty and doesn't feel like it levels up with the player or the clan so i give it a 2/5 or a 4/10 till they add some more flavor to the game, cause honestly the game is dull, over powered faction steam rolling everyone, lack of ways to gain relationships and the game doesn't inform you of your clan leveling up

Abandonware

Game isn't being updated any longer on GOG. Game is more or less abandoned by devs on all platforms anyways. M&B1 Warband is a better game than this

The Star Citizen of Medieval sandbox

*WARNING : it's an IN-DEV review ! * As the title say, Bannerlord is for now somehow like Star Citizen : it's a potentially fantastic game, which can potentially provides an incredible sandbox experience in a world where you can do whatever you want, immersed in a beautiful world and with tons of ambition. But just like Star Citizen, it's rotting in development hell and seems to go nowhere. Development is advancing at an absolutely GLACIAL pace (ten years and counting and not yet reached the level of being a fully functionnal reskin of Warband), with seemingly a complete lack of plans and communication, so it's hard to know what it will be in the end. The game is right now completely playable, but so many parts are either broken, breaking-game level of unbalanced or not yet implemented, that it's hard to really get a lot of depth from it. I'm sure that, in the end, it'll be a glorious game (if only because of mods, as one thing the dev aced is the modding possibilities). But I just wonder if the end will ever be reached.

Too slow to start

I enjoyed MB Warband and played it quite a bit despite never bothering to beat it mostly because I didn't have the time or energy to get all the lords to like me well enough to rule a kingdom. Now we have the sequel. It mechanically improves on the original in almost every way, but suffers from being too tedious and slow to start. Pros: Great, modern graphics at last. The combat is still fun (though little changed from Warband), and the controls on a keyboard and mouse are top notch. I never feel like I am missing a controller. I enjoy the new setting and the fully walkable cities actually look like cities for a change, filled with NPC's you can interact with during quests. Speaking of quests, there are lots of new ones to keep everything fresh and interesting. These might include hunting for a spy with a little detective work, or following a caravan to defend it against an imminent attack. The game is fun, for a while. Cons: I've put in at least 12 hours and I'm still 6th level. Sure, I may be doing something wrong, but I've won at least 50 tournaments, and more battles than I can count. Most of my troops are around 20th-25th level, which is ridiculous. Worse still, the main quest-line is nearly impossible to complete in a reasonable fashion. You have to talk to ten lords throughout the kingdom, but the game doesn't tell you how to find them and you can only locate them one at a time in a specific order when you finally figure out the obtuse system for doing so. And finally, after all of that, its quite common that one of them will be captured by an opposing kingdom, forcing you to loiter around for days or weeks of in-game time waiting for them to escape. It's all very boring, especially once you've done all the quest types and are slowly traveling between cities (you can speed up time, but its still slow). Despite all of this, I believe the game has great potential once they figure out how to create an engaging main quest and cut out the tedium..
