Well designed beat 'em up
Very satisfying to play, with tight controls and great sprites. This is a challenging game, the AI is pretty smart (for a beat 'em up) and the environment is dangerous. The risk/reward healing system is great once you get to used to it. Bosses may be infuriating at first, but just use your brain a little bit and it's fine. Between the story mode, arena and multiple difficulty settings I think there's more than enough content here for this type of game. If you enjoy this type of game and the content doesn't offend you, there's no reason not to grab it for a few dollars on sale.

Bleeding fist
Mother Russia Bleeds To start off, most of the game is not about Russia being bad. In fact I say it's more of a mix states of china style with russia. (Story) The game is more about a gang's that made their own government to fill the city with a custom made drug that heal's and boost strength. You and your friend's are the perfect lab rats for this drug to test on, to make the perfect soldiers with a new age of power. But it's a prototype so there is some complications. Oh? Anger are we? Then fight! Beat-em-up in this war of Mother Russia Bleed. Fight for your revenge to who has made you go through this pain. (Note) You can play with bots if you have no one to play with. To have a better chance of fighting with the bots, stay as close to them to beat up your enemy.

Exceptionally poor controller support
This review pains me. The game itself is enjoyable, but every time I have set down to play it with friends, the initial setup (i.e. binding controllers to it) has been an unmitigated disaster. I have read that this plays well with XBOX controllers; I use steam controllers and logitech ones. 3/4 of the times I have tried to play it, with some combination of those controllers, I have been unable to. In one instance, I was able to successful play with one controller and a keyboard, because the game forces the keyboard as an input (in my experience). Given the type of game this is, these flaws are an absolute deal-breaker for me. I only every want to play this game on a whim when a few friends are together, and in most instances this has culminated in several unsuccessful configurations, and an irritated "giving up" after 15 minutes. The game itself is fun: I enjoy the aesthetics and mechanics, but I have been unable to play it (with friends) in the circumstances where we wanted to play it.

Shallow Gameplay and Poor Design
Disclaimer - I own the game on the PS4 and have beaten it. This game is a simple beat-em-up side-scroller, but has some issues that leads me to believe it is just a poorly made game overall. The graphics and story are decent, but the gameplay is incredibly shallow. The mechanics are very simple even for the type of game it is and there are almost no moves, skills or combos to learn or hone your craft in. In other words, there are very few ways to deal with enemies. Even when weapons are involved, they mostly all work the same and effectively only provide a couple of more ways to deal with enemies. The most important factor in the gameplay is to move up or down out of the line of sight so as to avoid enemy attacks. Everything else are just minor details. This inherently results in a game where random luck, anticipation and reaction to very few simple attack types determine your performance. If you decide to kick up the difficulty a notch, the whole thing comes down to very simple quick reactions and random luck. A game which relies so heavily on random luck and pure reaction time to such simple and limited threat types just in different sprites can only provide so much enjoyment. I deleted the game soon after I beat the story mode, because there was no more fun to be had from honing such a simple and mind-numbing skill and the random luck needed to keep progressing was a bit too much to be enjoyable. This game serves as a fine example of how not to design a game if you want it to fun to play for more than a couple of hours.
