Mother Russia Bleeds is Streets of Rage brawling with Mortal Kombat gore and a psychological thriller story. Best played with a buddy. Turn off friendly fire in either co-op or bot mode (options menu during gameplay), to keep from damaging each other as much as your enemies. Graphics and music complete the story's dark and gritty atmosphere.
Played on Linux Mint with F310 controller and GT 1030 graphics.

Is Mother Russia Bleeds the game that is worth your money and attention? There are many pros in it - disturbing story, number of possible attacks, character selection, number of weapons, the drugs using mechanics, variety of enemies and environments, responsive controls, challenging yet not frustrating difficulty, beautiful graphics, dynamic music and realistic sounds. What are the downsides? The explicit violence and drugs using that make the game inappropriate for kids, the absence of character development and also the absence of dubbing. There is a local co-op multiplayer which for sure makes the game even more entertaining if you find the right person to play with as this is the kind of game that your kids should stay out of.

Mother Russia Bleeds is as rough and unpleasant as life in Soviet Russia was (at least for most of the people) but it is also funny and addictive (and not because of drug usage) and the game itself does not have many cons. Although it is not the game suitable for family playing it is still a good game for fellow gaming fathers and their (adult) friends and I am therefore giving it Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s index 8+ out of 10 - recommended.

From the art, music and game desigin perspective it is definitly a well crafted beat em up. The only issues it has are lackluster keyboard controles and lack of content. It's also definitly better played with friend
