Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight

Okay so first things first, I love Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight, it's a true classic and a real good time together with friends. The problem is that the DOS version is inferior to the Amiga version when it comes to the overall atmosphere, sound, and music. The DOS version also suffers from some minor bugs here and there which can ruin fights, the hitboxes are especially janky (looking at you red dragon). For those who aren't aware there exist an open source re-implementation called OpenMoonstone, it makes the game run better on modern OS, it has high resolution and widescreen support, it has better controller support, and it also fixes all the bugs. Well waited years to get hold of this game and its awesome, but cant get any controller or joystick to work with out it constantly moving around to the left or up, any chance of a fix for this Gog? I really want to give this full stars.

I owned this game on the Amiga 500+, back when I was a teen. Spent countless summer afternoons with my brothers & friends on it, hacking, slashing, dying, cursing monsters, cursing the tavern dices, cursing the Wizard atop the tower, cursing the Dragon and the Black Knights. Part boardgame, part hack'n'slash beat'em-up, part RPG; great music, wonderful presentation, excellent graphic and animation still standing nowadays. I'd say this game needs a remake, but it really doesn't - it just needs to be playable, because it still is a hell of a good time. Though you can easily find it in abandonware sites, don't pass the opportunity to buy it and own it on GOG. I'm not suggesting it - 14 years old me is suggesting it, after bringing that damn Dragon to the ground (and believe me, it CAN be done!)

I loved this game in the 90's. The copy I had was bugged and you couldn't complete it, but it was still fun. This is basically the same, but it's missing one of the best parts of the game - the music. I miss the atmospheric moody music and the gambling tune and all of that, that's what made the game. I feel like I bought half the game. Put the flipping music back in! Oh, and also the controls are very clunky, but still it's a worthwhile game.

I played it for the first time on Amiga 500. Later on PC. Both versions are good, although the PC had better graphics (more colors) but the Amiga had better music. I have completed it many times. It's a short game. It can be completed in approximately 2 hours. But before that, many deaths await you :) "Moonstone" has beautiful, drawn 2D graphics and an amazing atmosphere. The swamps (the monsters that live there) are terrifying !! :) Other lands are also interesting and varied. Playing for several people (max 4) is not cooperation but a fight against each other. We fight with monsters and other knights. The game is very good, but short, which can be a plus if someone doesn't have much time and wants to relax :)
