So many great games ;)

M&M3 was the first RPG I ever played. I played it a lot and really loved it. So for me this is the best of the series and I play it every few years, but it's hard to be objective and without nostalgia here ;). You just really want to switch the paladin from the beginner party with someone who can water walk lika a ranger. 4 and 5 are also great. They can be combined into one game (World of Xeen) which makes it even better and provides extra content. 6 comes with a "new" engine and is by far the best of the newer parts. If you don't like the 2d graphics of 1-5, then you want to play that. From there it sadly does not get better. The publisher forced a new part to be made every year, so 7 and 8 lack creativity and feel kind of rushed in some parts. But still enjoyable and with some new ideas. Spent a lot of pocket money for it back then and it was totally worth it. And it still is. There is also a mod that combines m&m 6-8 into one game (and improves the resolution and a few other things. But at least the merge part is nothing you want to do on your first playthrough. Part 9 is the combination of a new engine and a publisher that was still pushing. So the game is buggy and incomplete. There is a fan patch that makes the game playable, but I did not try it out yet.

THE RPG collection

I got my copy of the box set as a prize in a computer games mag competition somewhere in the late nineties. The collection is priceless to anyone who appreciates classic RPG. The World of Xeen alone is easily worth the cover price, not to mention the - sometimes insanely difficult - Swords of Xeen, or the Clouds of Xeen. The first three parts are extremely hardcore, but they're great RPG history lessons. Plus - the supposedly main game in this set, MMVI, was surprisingly good and still holds its own well today.

Great classic RPGs

When I was younger MM3 stole great deals of my time away. The ability to freely explore the world connected with the ability to manage a large party of characters made that game something that has influenced my choices in games for the years to come. When I saw this up on GOG I could not resist. I picked it up and started playing through 4&5. I was blown away again! MM3 was worth the money just for itself, but to throw in the amazing World of Xeen made this back completely worth every dollar. I very recently started MM6 and again have refueled my love for this series. The huge worlds that you can explore freely and interesting party management make this series something that will never grow old for me. If you are a fan of turn based RPGs or games that allow you to pick your path then this is the series for you.

MM3: Lifetime destruction device

I played MM3 until it literally broke. Whenever my ridiculously overpowered heroes would enter the Arena, the game crashed. And still, I never completed it, because I missed or failed a specific storyline mission. This game must have 200+ hours of playtime - and then there's 5 more of them...

Best in late series!

This is one of the best games of all time for me, the fantasy world, the story, the locations, the monsters, items, skills and spells are just great. Love the way you start like absolute nothing that can get eatean by rats and over the course of a looong game you turn into a world ending force of nature that can wipe the whole map of Dragons and Titans. PERFECT game!
