Metro 2033 Redux

This game is amazing a instant cult classic and it has great combat and an amazing story. A must play for anyone who likes apocalypse games or if your a fan of the books. The story has multiple ways to experience it from a nice casual story shooter to a angering immersive gunfight for your life.

If the speed is fast, one day is enough, and if it's slow, you can pass the level in two to three days. The texture model may appear slightly rough now, but it is completely playable, and the excellent scene and game style cover up the shortcomings of this part. There's nothing to say about level design and gameplay, just relax and enjoy the plot and shooting.

This is one of those games that really sets up an entire new franchise and fantastic universe for fans to debate and play around. When I heard Glushovsky wanted to create "russian Fallout", I couldn't dream on how great this game was. It truly sets the bar up high when we talk about post-apocalyptic universes. From the sound design of haunting enemies, to the beautiful desolation of Moscow, to the pockets of civilizations in the Metro, this is a true vibrant world! Worldbuilding: 10/10 Storytelling: 9/10 Gameplay: 10/10 Replay Value: 10/10

Played: Version 1.03 (4 years old - latest version at the time of writting) PC used: R5 5600x / GTX 1070 / Win 10 Pro 10.0.19045 For years I tried playing this game but every time I tried it never clicked with me, I just couldn't get past the sort of rough start to the game. Some voice lines sounding odd and yet comical, the UI had some oddities I couldnt figure out, and the movement/gunplay felt weird (somewhat close to Rainbow 6 Siege which I dont like its gameplay). This time I pushed through those first few levels and I'm glad I did, it definitely gets better after them. It took a longer time to get used to the UI and quirky gunplay/movement but I did eventually.. for the most part, glad I did as the level designs in this game looks fantastic and gets better as the game goes on. Story wise it's pretty decent (ramps up in the later half of the game) but when you read the diary notes that's where it gets deeper into your characters thoughts, and that's where the message the of the game comes to life. Glad I could download the manual because I needed it for figuring out some elements like my watch and what it's parts indicate. No Audio issues, one crash late in the game, and quite a few textures seemed to flicker with other textures they lay on. Overall really solid game for the most part. Side note leave SSAA off or at the most at 0.5 as it dropped my framerate hard when I used anything higher than 0.5. All other settings I could max. 8/10

A great game, everything that has been said about it is true. Fun to shot things, fun to sneak around, and a nice story to boot. But I gotta say nice it's nice to play a complete and well made game in like 12 hours or so. As I have gotten older I don't have time for games like I used to. Hell I struggle to find time to watch a 90min movie these days without life getting in the way. But I hey I like my life and games like this fit well into it. I can get a nice complete experience in a weekend- or just by staying up a little late over a week. Nice game for folks with little time for games like they used to.
