Great contribution to roguelite tactics
The game is a single-player tactics game deriving from Into the Breach and introducing new mechanics such as sync and dodge points for moving. Campaign has variable length which was one of the ideas introduced in Into the Breach. On release date (2024-11-06) it is not bug-free and compared to Into the Breach, it is much more resource-hungry because of the usage of Unity engine. User interface does a good job explaining mechanics, but some game objectives and boss attacks are confusing. It is not clear in advance that you can shoot over/through some types of cover. Again in contrast to Into the Breach where I remember all the in-game explanations of mechanics, turn order and objectives were perfectly clear. However, Metal Slug Tactics arguably has more complicated mechanics and more things to explain.
