Metal Fatigue is a real-time strategy game taking the genre to new heights - literally. Build and customize your massive Combots to dominate the three battlefield levels simultaneously - from orbit, to the surface, and even underground! Develop your base and command your forces carefully - the enemy can appear from any direction, including above and below!

Choose from the warring factions - the Milargo, Neuropa or Rimtech are competing CorpoNations, each with their own technologies and research capabilities. Capitalize on their individual strengths and weaknesses for the optimum strategic advantage!

Customize and build giant Combots from thousands of unique robot part combinations - including such offensive and defensive options as Katana Arms, Power Shield, and Missile Torsos, and much, much more! Add conventional units like the battle-tank and missile car to round out your military might.

Battle throughout three continuous, multilevel areas - in orbit, on the surface, and underground! Build bases, research new weaponry and unit types, and engage the enemy on three different level simultanously.

30 solo play missions - each faction has its own unique ten-mission campaign. Follow the story of three estranged brothers, as they scavenge high technology from the ancient alien Hedoth to fight a war against their very own bloodline.

30 multiplayer maps & missions - up to eight players supported over LAN. Includes both cooperative and death-match modes!

One of the best, most unique RTS games!!

This is easily one of my top 5 favourite RTS games but if you've never heard of it there are 3 words you must hear: CONFIGURABLE GIANT ROBOTS. Let's face it, the game has an ok story, a nice atmosphere, good, varied by faction soundtrack but none of these are what gave it a small cult following. The real selling point is the fact that your main fighting force here are heroes piloting giant humanoid robots like in General Daimos, Voltron or some other mecha you know. What's more, these iron giants are constructed from parts which are manufactured separately and then assembled as you see fit. You want a dual-wielding swordsman? Sure! A shell-spitting gun battery? Why not! Or maybe a flying missile platform? Here you go! Even better, you can cut off limbs from enemy machines and equip them in the field! And it does matter because each faction has its own signature parts and there are also aliens here with some unique stuff. I have never had so much fun just building my army in any other game!

Quick start guide for impatient people

Are you having problems reading the text due to screen resolution? Metal fatigue has many similarities as the westwood studios Dune/Red Alert/Command and Conquer series. 1) The resources are MJ and Man power. MJ is harvested from lava or solar panels and Man power is generated by "Cryochamber' buildings 2) The Harvester/Builder (Hover Vehicle) can stand next to Lava to generate MJ instead of constantly travelling back and forth. 3) To build a giant robot (Combot) and for that you need to build a parts factory THEN an assembly building. The Combot has 5 parts, 1x Torso, 1x Legs 2x Arms (parts factory or salvaged) and 1x Crew (Cryo chamber) Combots are built on the Assembly building and you need to click the 4 bits and 'deploy' to get it fighting. 4) There are 3 map levels, Orbit, Surface and Underground. Orbit is a source of solar power and to go there use a teleporter. Underground needs an elevator dug by a digger. Underground has more Lava used for MJ and can be handy for outmaneouving the enemy. 5) It is VERY easy to lose track of your 'Hero' characters and have them killed no matter how well you are doing. This means you will lose. 6) If you are lucky you can attack and have a Harveter/Builder to repairing that attacking unit. 7) No auto save...Don't forget to Manual save! Do I enjoy this game? I enjoy the different spin in the game mechanics. The Story... it's is a story. You will need to be careful and watch your units and may have problems reading the text (resolution problems). Also the friendly AI...is a bit dated. I hope you have fun.

Not just another RTS

This game truly stood apart from other strategy games thanks to 2 major innovations. Firstly, the robots. They are fun to build, especially using parts collected on killed robots. The camera can be moved in all directions to enjoy the fantastic looks and epic fights of these japanese mecha-reminding robots. Their power is well-balanced as they need regular units as backup, which is great. Secondly, the 3 levels, which enable awesome strategies. My reproach is that they focused on the gameplay and unit design, and neglected the settings. I wish there were colourful landscapes with animated fauna and flora, water... Instead of that, you have fun on dull empty grounds. Back in 2000, I spent many hours skirmishing. I always kept this name as a fond memory. It was one of the first titles I wishlisted, hoping Gog would resurrect it. Worth the try!

One of it's age

This game is the reason of my account on GoG. Sadly my english is too bad to explain the game. :D Just believe me, if you like strategy, try this. It's old, but the mech system and the 3 layer map just awesome!

FINALLY AFTER SOO LONG!

Played this game since I was a little kid and signed the petition to have GOG get this game into their list of titles. I love strategies and giant robots. Metal Fatigue is literally the best of both. Good gameplay mechanics combined with a multi-layered battlefields, cool weapons and combot shenanigans (including stealing and reverse-engineering combot parts). The only minus of this game is the pathfinging, but it can be forgiven quickly. Now excuse me, I need to go and replay this game...
