Master of Orion: Collector's Edition

Someone here wrote that this game is like MOO2 only with better graphics, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Higher resolution means not better graphics! The graphics of MOO2 were just perfect, it was art. But the design of this game was made by people without any talent. Sorry people you have chosen the wrong profession, you will never be in able to create something like MOO2! Short sad, the game is bad, no space battles (which were the most fun in MOO2), ugly soulless design, and a ridiculous price. Spare your time and money for something better!

Good things first... the Fixed the research system problems by not redomly excluding advanteges from your research tree if you don't have a spezial Race ability ... The Presantation of the Game is really AAA... great Sound great graphics, the atmothsphere is right! BUT the gameplay is all wrong first of all... WTF! Space roads?! No! Pls No! this is Space! why do I need to jump from system to system?! Second WT ULTRA F?! Where is my grand scale Space Combat?! .... this is Master of Orion!! But the space battles are now moblie app-Style minigame Battles....Wut the Hell?

I'm huge fan of MoO1 and 2 but not 3. This game another fail as I see. No improvement only degradation... Silly and cheap graphics for kids, dumb AI, failing real-time combats...

How do you review a “game in development”? I’ve played this one for a while now, going through at least a half-dozen updates. In the more recent updates, the amount of content, stability, number of bugs, and play balance issues have all improved a great deal. As a fan of Master of Orion 2, I recognize the familiar races and technologies. I am impressed by the stunning graphics in all of the modes, from the galactic map to the planetary view and especially the tactical fleet combat. I generally run the game on “Ultra” graphic settings, but still manage to get a couple of hours out of my laptop before having to plug in. Since I was a fan of MOO2, I initially had some trouble getting used to the way that interstellar travel is handled in this edition. However, once over that hurdle, I found that it added an additional element of strategy. Both diplomacy and espionage have a level of depth that are impressive in light of how simple the interface and controls are. There are also some previously unfamiliar technologies that appear in this game that make for some interesting options and strategies when making your way through the galaxy and staking out your territory. I have already recommended this game to my friends and family that were fans of other Master of Orion games. It does have a few remaining bugs and play balance issues, but I fully expect those to be squashed in fairly short order. I’ll update my review and maybe even give it the final star - if I can - when it is released if it meets my expectations.
