Master of Orion 3

MoO3 surely has its flaws, like the real time fights where the CPU of course has an edge, but it's the one and only 4X which makes the player feel like he's commanding a real huge galactic empire, not just a bunch of planets scattered here and there. As a game progresses hundreds of planets and moons are colonized, those that first were barely unhabitable are now terraformed, crawling with people which will move by themselves and will populate other systems, maybe even within enemy's borders. Meanwhile those hundreds of planets are to be managed, the player can chose to automatize almost everything or take care of every single aspect, from the single building to the overall galaxy expenditures. An excellent ship and fleet designer is just the icing. Don't call this game "a spreadsheet" if it's too hard for you.

If GoG offered this game for free, it would still be too expensive. It's an excersize in frustration. It's confusing, overly complicated, NOTHING like the first two games. Go buy MOO 1 and 2 from GoG and leave this one alone. They should have spend their time fixing the multiplayer bugs in Master of Orion 2 in my opinion as that was the best in the series hands down. Giving this game a 1 star rating is being generous.

Horrendous UI, couldn't be bothered to read through all of it.

Regardless of what others say, this game is a deep and masterful game. The problem with all these negative reviews as they are posted by purists, people who played the first 2 and were upset that this game wasn't MOO1 and MOO2. This was my first MOO game, and after playing this I could not go to the older, clunkier, uglier versions. Perhaps I am spoiled by newer generation graphics and UI design, but this game is far superior in my eyes.

I would buy this if it could be turned into a remake of Moo2
