Absolutely unworthy of the name.
Liked MoO 1 or 2? Then clearly you have a taste for fine gaming and should avoid this game like the plague.

Possibly the only person who liked MoO3
I think I may be the only person in the world who actually enjoyed Master of Orion 3. Yes, it's clunky, at times awkward, and poorly polished...but that didn't prevent lots of other games from becoming classics.

Realistic, but not Fun
Sure you feel like you're managing an intergalactic empire. But it just seems tedious, not "fun", which should be what a game is going for.

You have been warned
This is so painfully boring, they should have buried this next to Ataris E.T. in the desert. There is nothing that this game has in common with MOO1 or 2 , not that this is a bad thing by default but this thing should not be called a game at all. Its overly complex and usual those games are fun when learned but MOO3 is just plain boring. Get MOO1, MMO2 or Alpha Centauri they are brilliant.

It just isn't the same :(
Well, I had this game long before GOG did. While the game itself isn't terrible, (but it is fairly bad) It will eat up a massive amount of your free time if you let it. The UI kinda fights you harder then the AI does, and control of ships in combat is nearly impossible. From one play through to the next your research options change. Dramatically. This can change the playability alot, and your ability to control what's going on can range anywhere from workable to impossible. I, like most everyone else, sincerely wish this had been a genuine successor to MOO2, The way the Civ Games work from one generation to the next so well, But as it isn't, I cannot recommend it. It IS a halfway-decent game on its own, but the gameplay issues and terrible failure to follow the previous game makes it a poor choice.
